“Always good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

Good choice of food on the menu and the specials board. Good wine list. Staff are friendly, but not intrusive. Have eaten here on several different occasions and the food is always consistently good.

“first class meal out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

This was the second time we had been out to eat here in the last couple of weeks, the food and ambiance are first class. The first time I had the starter of tempura battered prawns with chilli dipping sauce, this was absolutely delicious. Main course consisted of Lamb shank, this just fell off the bone and was cooked to perfection and served with seasonal vegetables with a red wine jus. The selection of cheese and biscuits is all locally sourced and cannot be complained about.
The staff are very attentive and are concious of when to approach and when not to, they are very friendly and extremely professional. The selection of wines are also very good and nothing is too much trouble. I would reccommend a visit as we eat here regular and will continue to do so.

“Smart restaurant, amazing food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Went here a few days ago for a 60th birthday celebration. The food is some of the best restaurant food I have ever had. There were 15 of us at our table and everyone commented on how good the food was. We chose from a set menu, 4 starters, 4 main courses, 4 desserts and the cost was £19 each. The owner apparently is well known as a chef in the local area and known for working in a number of local pubs and getting their food up to scratch before opening The Angel. The place was busy which must testify to how good it is.
