I almost do not want to review Koedoeskloof, because I want to keep it as a closely guarded secret for myself. But Debi and Eugene truely deserve all the good reviews and credit they are getting in their less than a year since opening Koedoeskloof. They are the most wonderful hosts and make the lodge a real home-from-home for visitors. My sister & I spent two nights here in July and what a wonderful visit it was. The room was spotless, simply but beautifully decorated and the beds were comfortable and warm. The Dwars Bar is where breakfast and dinner is served. The English breakfast was lovely and the dinnners were superb- kudu burger very highly recommended. Eugene recommended a circular day trip through Vleiland (direction Laingsburg) and Seweweekspoort and what a beautiful drive it was. It was primarily a dirt road and the first 50km or so was pretty remote, with no cellphone reception and the only sign of life we encountered being an abandoned old car with a broken axle ( although the road condition was not bad at all). But we knew that should we not return to the guesthouse that night, Eugene would come looking for us- that is the sort of true karoo hospitality you expeience at Koedoeskloof. And the scenery we encountered on the drive was stunning- see pictures. The guesthouse is in a lovely setting and only 500 metres off tar. I would definitely highly recommend a stop at Koedoeskloof but leave space for me for next time please! Thank you Debi & Eugene- we definitely hope to see you again soon!
