“Just perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

We found it difficult to find this beautiful place, but once there we spent a wonderful night in the suite with early morning walk in the grapes. Best breakfast and food eaten in a guesthouse on our 10 day journey, best Shiraz drunken from the farm. The private pool could be cleaner, but we will certainly return when coming back to the little Karoo!

Beautiful views, a very comfortable room, great hosts in Andy and Penny, very good food cooked by Leo, excellent morning walks with Andy and the dogs - what's not to like?

But our particular pleasure at Mymering was the "peace and holy quiet there".

To offset the superlatives, you do need to enjoy dogs, remote locations and communal meals. I must say I find communal breakfasts a struggle!

Room Tip: We stayed in "Mae West" which was stylish and fun.

Big Hello From Mymering :)
thanks so much for your review - so helpful for other guests.
Yes, indeed we are animal lovers and what a perfect place for our furry friends!
We generally have a large table set for guests to interact - however a private setting is not a problem at all for us to arrange should you wish to be private.
So pleased you enjoyed the peace, food and views and hope that you visit us again when next in South Africa.
warm wishes
Penny

I was so pleased to find and book this place. It is a little way (5 kms?) outside Ladismith and a little offroad but be brave as what lies at the end of the trail is fantastic. I was reading a book at Jo'burg airport about luxury accomodation in SA and saw Mymering was included so that was a great sign. We booked the jacuzzi chalet which is completely private with stunning views over vine yards and mountains.A couple of beers in the jacuzzi was brilliant especially as we had an all day drive from Tsitsikamma. We shared dinner and breakfast with three lovely couples and the young man who hosted and cooked for us was great. All meals were of a high standard. We certainly hope to visit Mymering again.

Room Tip: the jacuzzi chalet is absolutely brilliant

While on a Hucking Farley tour on route 62, we enjoyed our stay at the Mymering Guest House to the most extent. Penny and Andy are terrific hosts and we had a great evening with delicious food and superb wine.

The service and hospitality were extraordinary and we had a very warm welcome. Penny and Andy made our stay unforgettable. We stayed at the honeymoon room and loved it! Room was very spacious, nicely decorated with a great view and a beautiful veranda. It was very quiet and comfortable. The food just amazing, it was one of the best dinner during our trip in SA. We can highly recommend it! Thank you very much for the great time in your gem! C&A

The ultimate 'get-away' with beautiful views, good accommodation, generous and entertaining owners - Penny & Andy. This is definitely a re-visit destination. Lovely walks, pets and the wine was good too!
