Stayed for one night,We were on the 3rd floor,Glad as its above a pub so no noise,The room was very clean and modern to a high standard,. The breakfast in the morning was huge,But it was not included in the room rate x 2 for under £10.00,so a total steal. The staff are very friendly and helpful, would recommend.

Stayed here 13th to 15th December and we werevery impressed. The bar area is very well maintained and presented. The usual good selections of beers and the food was very good too. I found all the staff to be polite and a credit to the place. The room we were allocatedwas spotlessly clean and spacious with a nice view of the Cathedral. The hotel and the city are well worth a visit

Room Tip: Room 306 !!

Single glazed rear room made disturbed sleep.Complained to desk staff gent - "yes we know it's noisey, we're going to double glaze", but no appology or offer of recompense. Dissapointing as room was nice!

Just returned from a 2 night stay in this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. There was some noise from outside during the day, it is right on the market square afterall but all was quiet again in the evenings. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The food was a little disappointing, a luke warm small portion of porridge at breakfast was not the best on a cold morning. We had steak in the evening which was nothing special but ok, which is why I gave 4 not 5 rating.

Regularly visit Ripon for family reasons..for a achange I decided to stay at the Unicorn..and will definitely be back soon . The room was immaculate, well decorated and spotlessly clean..very large comfortable bed..and reception staff were friendly and informative..when I told them that the heater in my room was not working, they checked it immediately, and offered me another room..even offering to move my things for me. It was quiet, and as the visit was rather distressing, it was great to get back to such a nice room and recuperate..was not expecting such a high standard!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter as the front overlooks the Market Square

Terribly noisy for a hotel - we stayed on a saturday night and it was chaos - fights, police , shouting etc and our room was next to the upstair ladies toilet so we had high heels on wooden floor and hand dryers blasting every 30 seconds whilst trying to sleep - breakfast poor - avoid unless you are mad

Just returned from a Saturday night in the unicorn. I must say all of the Trip advisor reviews have been very helpful and we knew what to expect. In the end we had no problem with the car park and got a space easily as it wasn't full. The car park is access by going past the bust deport into Sainsbury's car park and make for their front door then drive past and the car park is beside the loading bay.

The hotel/pub itself was lovely and quirky and the reception staff and other staff in the bar were helpful, good communicators and professional . The room on the 3rd floor was excellent, big, airy and overlooking the main market square, very tasteful decor. The bathroom was really modern and decorated to a high standard too. We knew it'd possibly be noisy later on that night but it was fine for a Saturday night.

I think one major change Wetherspoons could make to their otherwise excellent service would be to upgrade the sash windows to double glazed as this would shut out any night time noise. They've done such a great job in the hotel that surely this is on the cards to do.

Our breakfast was nice and my wife's eggs benedict she ways was to die for. We'd definitely stay again and had a lovely time.
