Recommended by a good friend 'The Old Deanery' proved to be the perfect place for our family Sunday lunch get together. On booking I mentioned we had a five month old baby, "no problem, we'd be delighted to have you all for lunch". On arrival we were greeted with a big smile and a wonderful warm welcome. Under pressure as it was busy the staff could not have done more to make us feel 'at home', nothing was a problem. We took drinks in the lounge in front of a blazing log fire and slowly mulled over the excellent value set Sunday lunch menu. In our own time we were shown to our table and the dining room had that friendly feeling often missing in an old world setting. The food was great from the traditional roast beef and Yorkshire puddings to the delicious sweets and local cheese board. We moved back into the lounge for coffee in front of that great fire and I'm sure the staff would have left us there to enjoy the place for as long as we wanted. Again a big thanks for wonderful food, happy, caring staff who took a pride in all that they did, making our get together very special indeed.
