“Lovely lunch.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Arrived at Swinton after a delightful morning at The Himalayan Garden at Grewelthorpe. The setting of Swinton Park is fabulous.
We were greeted and shown to our table in Samuel's Resturant and offered a table in the window, which overlooked the deer park. The service was delightful. We were offered freshly made lemonade to cool us down and some fresh crudites (vegetables from the walled garden) with a dipping sauce and garlic crumb. This was follwed by an amuse bouche, starter, main course and a dessert. The basil sorbet and strawberries were brilliant. A very good choice of food and beautifully presented. The menu did not include coffee and petit four. We had coffee and petits fours on the terrace. Absolutley loved the experience and the standard was extremely good. A good wine list to choose from. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for a wedding and it was a really lovely experience. It is surrounded by stunning parkland complete with herds of deer and the building is steeped with history. The staff were friendly and professional on check-in and our room was very luxurious. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was brilliant.

The whole weekend was a fantastic experience and I hope to make it back there again soon!

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at Swinton Park. I bought a 2 night foodie heaven voucher for my husband's birthday last September, and booked to redeem it this weekend which was also my birthday. (good planning on my part)

Our Scenic arrival at the hotel only set the tone for the whole weekend. We arrived on Friday, the receptionist showed us round the hotel and told us a little of its history. She was very helpful and could not have been more accommodating. We stayed in the Scarborough room, which was very charming, and maintained an stately home feel that we were expecting. We had a spa treatment, and spent too long in the relaxation room that we missed our pre-booked slot in the spa, but nothing was too much trouble and it was rebooked for this morning.

The food was delicious and the presentation was exceptional, we had afternoon tea in the drawing room which exceeded expectations.

All in all, we had a fantastic weekend, which was a memorable experience, we look forward to a return visit.

Firstly the location is amazing, the hotel is breath taking and the staff were just so friendly, professional and guest orientated. The tea experience in the drawing room was so lavish, however it felt extremely comfortable, like a sophisticated family home. Dinner was a gastronomic experience, with food selected from the hotel gardens, fresh and cooked to perfection, the wine selection and recommendations were a perfect match for the meal. The opulent surroundings are breath taking, no only the multiple hide away rooms but the park lands, lakes and a visit to see the dear are a must.
A truly memorable experience what I would recommend.. can't wait to return..

Room Tip: All rooms are amazing.

I have just returned from a one night stay at Swinton Park and it was perfection in every way! The hotel staff were delightful, the elegance of the hotel was astonishing, the grounds were utterly beautiful and we had one of the best dining experiences of all time. I just wish we'd been able to stay longer as we didn't even scratch the surface of wonderful things to do. Thank you again. Ben

Approaching Swinton Park Hotel with its' beautifully manicured gardens & stunning ivy covered castle makes you feel that you are stepping back into a wonderful piece of Old England & the inside doesn't disappoint with lovely lacquered floors, high ceilings & tasteful decoration. As soon as we arrived with puppy in tow we were made to feel like honoured guests & this continued throughout our 2 night stay & extended to our cocker spaniel as well who was treated like a princess (& didn't want to come home!) From the Manager of the hotel to the ladies who cleaned our room everyone was thoughtful, helpful, courteous, friendly & above all they all had smiles on their faces & seemed genuinely happy in their work - a rarity indeed! The woodland walks are a must with plenty of stunning lakes & ponds; dogs are allowed in all areas of the grounds (not the internal public areas) but for those of you who aren't dog lovers all the dogs we met were well behaved, well controlled & quiet so don't let the fact that this is a dog friendly hotel put you off, most people we met actually loved cuddling our pooch!
The food here is wonderful & really sums up 'fine dining', it's well worth trying out new dishes & the head waiter will quite happily talk you through the menu & discuss wines etc with you.
Basically nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, they bend over backwards to ensure you have a luxurious stay & we were very sad when we had to pack up & come home; I have stayed in some very good hotels but I expect it will be hard to find anything better than this.

EXCELLENT - Thank you to all the staff for making our short break fabulous!

My wife and I have just spent another fantastic stay at the Swinton Park Hotel (our second home, I wish!). As with our previous 4 visits the Hotel delivered a fantastic experience starting right at the beginning with the always polite and helpful staff who booked us in quickly and had us whisked off to the luxury of our room aided by our porter.
This time we stayed in the Turret Suite and as with our previous rooms we were not to be disappointed by the standard of the accommodation. The suite consisted of three levels, the ground floor being the lounge, first floor bedroom and the second floor the luxury bathroom and making it even more unique it was in the turret of the hotel so had curved walls!
Once we had got rid of our cases we were able to explore our accommodation and were pleasantly surprised to find a nice complimentary bottle of champagne and confectionary chocolates awaiting us in our personal lounge, this was soon on ice and waiting our tasting.
In addition to this we had a complimentary decanter of gin and whiskey with mixers, a selection of good quality teas, coffee and some very tasty shortbread biscuits oh and a lovely teddy on the bed waiting to find a new owner.
Once we had settled in my wife and I decided to have a quick refreshing drink from the bar and sat outside in the sun enjoying the peaceful surroundings after which we took a short walk up to the lakes where we discovered the beauty of the surrounding grounds.
Following our walk we took to the spa to spend an hour’s (50 mins) exclusive use of the Jacuzzi, sauna and relaxing area this was a nice end to our afternoon. For the remainder of the afternoon and evening we spent our time relaxing in the beautiful hotel eventually retiring to our room.
After having a very good sleep in our extremely comfortable bed we got up the following morning and headed for breakfast where we enjoyed a fantastic selection of cooked and continental food. I recommend the full English breakfast which consists of quality items cooked to perfection. The continental selection is also excellent.
All too soon it was time to head back to our room and pack our cases this was done with sad faces as we had wished we had booked an additional night stay something which we will consider in the future.
The Swinton Park Hotel is a gem set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside and a place which we are always so happy to get an option to go and stay at, it will not be long before we once again visit and it is our intention to try and stay in every room at the hotel!!!! We have achieved 6 of our task already.
I would like to thank the staff of the Swinton Park for their friendliness and professionalism during our stay and for making it the memorable occasion as it always is and we recommend the Swinton Park Hotel as a fantastic experience and venue.

Room Tip: All rooms are fantastic it really depends on what you want therefore look at the hotel site and trip...
