“One of englands finest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Fountains Abbey-a world heritage site.
It has amongst other things, magnificent Cictercian abbey ruins, an Elizabethan manor house, beautiful water gardens, a Medieval deer park, a Victorian church and fantastic views everywhere.
Its...Awesome, impressive, breathtaking, unbelievable, spectacular, amazing, picturesque, tranquil, relaxing and highly recommended. Its also one of my favorite places to visit.
What else can you say about this wonderful place?
No wonder its the no. 1 tourist attraction in Ripon.
Thank you Henry VIII, without you this wouldnt have been possible.

“Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Deer Park”

Beautiful part of the Dales. Worth checking for events at Fountains before planning visit. Can be expensive to take the family if not members of the National Trust.

Fountains Abbey is a must visit place for visitors and locals. There is so much to see and do what ever the weather, and it is easy to spend a full day there.

“Amazing!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

A beautiful day out taking a leisurely walk around the gardens and lake. The view from Ann Boleyn's seat is wonderful. It is a great place for a picnic or equally a lovely lunch in the heritage centre. The guided tour of the Abbey, which is run by volunteers, was interesting and really came alive thanks to our tour guide Ken who enthralled us all with his knowledge and interpretation of what life would have been like in the Abbey.

“Meets and exceeds expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Great in all weathers, seasons and from dawn to dusk.
Everyone is welcome, there is no age limit, no height restrictions, you can do what you like, whether you taking family, friends, partners, groups, educational trips, sight seeing tours, history seekers, garden buffs, or just your average Joe, there is a nook and cranky for anyone.
Even when it is a busy summers day, you can still find quiet areas set slightly away from the main tourist trail.
I especially enjoy strolling along the High Ride first thing in the morning... or relaxing on the Coffin Lawn in front of the Banqueting House in the afternoon.
If the Medieval Abbey, Jacobean Hall & 18thC Water Gardens aren't enough for you, there's always the 365 acre Deer Park to wonder around, finding such oddities as the Rough Bridge and the Devils Chimney.
I could go on, but I think It'd be better if you came and saw it for yourself.
