“Thank god for Waitrose”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

When I first came to this area (I have a timeshare) there was no Waitrose. Thank god there is one now as really useful for food for our stay. The new coffee shop is also very welcome, especially if you are late up !

“Simple cheap tasty snacks in laid back cafe in useful grocers.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2012

Never been one for squeezing into the hot bustling cafes in places like Tesco and Morrisons which serve their purposes very well but tend to be big plates of chips toast and beans. But I like this place at Carkeel because it is light open and relaxing. Wide selection of all kinds of food all from the ranges on the shelves and moor. Always busy but rarely queues. An easy option if you need a late Sunday breakfast or a lunch anytime.

“Good value food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

Came over today to restock on holiday booze for New Years Eve and got waylaid into a very good lunch in the cafe. Pleasant open unintimidating laid back environment with good range of light food and drinks. The shop is hassle free, no tension or heaving crowds. A perfect break before loading the bottles and gently preparing for the turn of the year.

“First rate but very busy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2011

Stopped here on Tuesday lunchtime on return journey from Bodmin. Eventually had a very good lunch but it was very busy and we had to queue for a while. Excellent value. Easy going friendly ambience - when you get a table. Have been to several other Waitrose cafes in store. This one is one of the smallest. Maybe the store site is small but it's a pity they did not anticipate the success and build much bigger.

“Best daytime eating option in the close In Saltash area.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

Not on a par with the Rod and Line or one or two of the conventional restaurants but I rank the Waitrose Cafe as a very good place to eat in this small town. The ambience is fresh and bright. The setting is peaceful, the food top quality and very good value. The service is polite and efficient. It is easy to incorporate a snack or moderate meal before or after a routine or one off shopping trip. We do at least once every three or four weeks. The store is 30 seconds off the A38.
