“One of my Favourite Places!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Being lucky enough to live close by I love walking my dog in the grounds of Cothele, summer and winter alike. It is a great place to go and has a wonderful feel to it, with spectacular views from the Look-out.
What would be nice is to have a cup of coffee and perhaps a slice of hot buttered toast in the Edgcumbe after my walk, which I usually do first thing in the morning, along with lots of other people. However the Edgcumbe isn't open until later in the morning. What a lost opportunity! I am sure it would do very well if they opened for breakfast! And what a wonderful place to have it, down by the quay.

“Excellent place to visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

As members of the National Trust we would highly recommend a trip to Cotehele - it is one of our favourite places to visit. The gardens and walks are spectacular and as bird enthusiasts we see a huge variety of birds every time we go. The food in the Barn Restaurant is also faultless. If you are not members it can be an expensive day but we would definitely recommend a visit.

“This property is a must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

A most delightful house, very atmospheric and full of history and wonderful things. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Gardens in late autumn still colorful and much to see. Take the valley walk if you dare, very steep going down and a nightmare coming back up, for those who are not as fit as they should be. Really good restaurant, set in an amazing barn. Interesting gallery and shop. Pity it rained, leaving a visit to the quay for another time. Be warned, make sure your satnav doesn't take you down some of the smallest tracks on the planet! Otherwise a most enjoyable day.

“So quiet compared to the Tamar Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We only had a couple of hours here and chose not to look at the house this time, and because we were having dinner later we didn't eat here either although the menu looked tempting. However a walk around the outside attractions and by the river was very peaceful after the noise and bustle of the Tamar Bridge and the M5 motorway. Some iteresting and historic things to see including Tamar boat Shamrock and heritage buildings. I found it a bit off putting that everywhere we went there were requests for donations. One or two donations boxes would suffice. Of course there is no compulsion to may a donation

“Lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

This is a beautiful and tranquil place to visit, the valley garden is wonderful and well kept. We did not have time to go into the house, but will look forward to that on the next visit.
