Everything stated in previous reviews sums Glendon Guest House to an absolute tee. We came upon this property after visiting the Matlock Bath Tourist Information Centre ( who let me say we less that helpful apart from showing me a machine that lists availability for local hotels and B&B's for that night ) and what a find. From the moment we were welcomed by Damien, with freshly brewed tea, juice and delicious home made cake, we new we had made a great choice. He and co-owner Adrian, have done a champion job of renovating their B & B. The house has kept all of its original charm but gives its guests the added luxury of large comfy beds with quality bed linen and nice new bathrooms with shower heads that actually give you a wonderful shower with good water pressure. The decorating and decor is a credit to them both and is very pleasing on the eye. Everything has been thought of - eg: power points in sensible places - when you plug in the hair dryer you are next to a mirror so you can see to dry you hair, a small bar fridge in your room. Breakfast was truly scrummy and in a beautiful room overlooking the front garden and pretty park opposite and we were entertained as a local resident squirrel also had his breakfast from the bird feeder right outside the window!
Damien was extremely helpful and went out of his way to help us with some information we were looking for.
We could not have found anything better.
Our only regret is that we could not have stayed longer and enjoyed the house and the company of our hosts.
Do yourself a favour and visit this wonderful little gem - I don't believe you will regret it!
Thanks again Damien, Adrian and Jasper (the resident dog) and good luck with your venture - if we ever find ourselves on this side of the world again we will revisit!
