We stayed for a weekend, it was a great place to stay, the building is lovely anf the Nightingale room was perfect, with a great bathroom. There are lots of nice walks nearby or a short drive away. Would love to go back!

The owner gives great advice on the local pubs too!

Many places claim to be dog friendly but The Pines truly is.
My wife and I stayed in early October for a weekend to escape any possibility of a surprise 50th birthday party and took along our cocker spaniel.
We were greeted at the door by Cheryl who made us incredibly welcome and made a great fuss of the dog. She has those magic pockets ... the ones that contain an endless supply of dog treats!
The room was fantastic - spotlessly clean and with a huge 4 poster bed. There were no restrictions for the dog - sleeps and eats in the room, is welcome in the breakfast area, access to plenty of walks, towel by the door for those muddy paws etc.
Breakfast was excellent and plentiful and the dog was presented with his own cooked sausage in a bowl each morning.
Location was very good - a short drive to Matlock, Chatsworth, Bakewell etc - we did a 10 mile circular walk taking in Chatsworth and Bakewell - Cheryl is a mind of information and local advice to help you decide what to do and where to go.
Darley Bridge itself is a great little village with a fantastic pub only a couple of hundred yards away - the Three Stags Head - great food, great atmosphere and also completely dog friendly throughout the whole pub even if you're eating.
All in all a great place to stay - especially if you're looking to take your dog.

In the area for a wedding, we spent two nights at the Pines B&B in September. Many thanks to Cheryl for her warm welcome, her kindness and willingness to help whenever necessary (she even lent us her iron and ironing board to refresh our clothes just before the wedding!).

The 3 bedrooms are all beautifully decorated and comfortable, the choice of different breakfasts is fantastic, the location is terrific; to put it in a nutshell, everything was perfect and we look forward to returning to the Pines one day.

We stayed for 3 nights over the August bank holiday with our two dogs and couldn't have wished for a better stay. Both the bedroom and bathroom were clean, spacious, beautifully furnished and filled with lots of little touches to make the stay special. The rest of the house was also filled with interesting items and again everywhere was very clean and tidy. Outside there was a lovely, mature garden with a pond and a seating area.

Cheryl gave us a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her, she had a lot of local knowledge and was always ready to offer advice or information on the walks or villages in the area. She was also a very good cook - we had the full breakfast each morning - it was tasty and beautifully cooked and set us up for our days walking and of course the dogs enjoyed their morning sausage! We were lucky with the weather and managed to get out and about each day around the many public footpaths in the area.

We ate each night at the local pub, the Three Stags Heads, (which was only a few minutes walk away from The Pines) and can certainly recommend it. The food was good and reasonably priced. We were also able to take our dogs inside. There is a very large field just back of the pub where dogs could be exercised.

We found everyone, from the locals to other holidaymakers very friendly and sociable and would certainly recommend The Pines for a stay, we’re looking forward to our next visit – and our dogs can't wait either!

Lovely host Cheryl gave us a warm welcome and throughout the stay demonstrated a high attention to detail.I would echo the previous reviews: the much appreciated doggy sausage, the delicious breakfast (loving the little pots for the sauces!), comfy rooms and homely atmosphere. Hope we return to the area again to be able to enjoy this special BnB. If your reading and debating, then go ahead and book!!Thanks again for a lovely stay and Mabel is dedefinitely missing those sausages!!!

an amazing couple of days here and as soon as we met Cheryl we knew we had chosen well. We have never felt so welcome anywhere. We only managed to get a room here due to a last minute cancellation and I'm not surprised. Rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfast is awesome and everyone you meet locally knows and loves the hosts, again, I'm not surprised. Really looking forward to the next visit.
