“Excellent gluten free carrot cake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2014

We popped in here for a mid morning tea break, lovely quaint old fashioned tearooms with friendly staff. Real tea made with proper tea leaves and best of all gluten free carrot cake. Such a treat to find somewhere serving a choice of gluten free options and it was yummy!

“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Found by accident having walked out of another 'well known' cafe. This was delightful and our coffee, scones etc were delicious. Will visit again when next in Bakewell.

“Top nosh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

This place is great - old school tearooms, friendly staff but most importantly super tasty food. I haven't strayed much past the rarebit, of which they have about 10 varieties and 'tis the stuff of legend. We regularly visit Bakewell just for this. Ashamed of myself? Slightly. But yum!

“A long wait for the mael, but worth it in the end.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

We were disappointed in the length of time we had to wait for our meals after ordering them. However they were worth the wait, well cooked and presented. My only complaint, if really looking for one, was the loose leaf tea seemed very cheap quality. Other than that, very hard to find a fault. You can see the kitchen on your way out and the lady cooking on her own, looked very harassed. However she did an excellent job, as backed up by the fact the place was very busy. Well worth a visit.
