Hi Paul, thank you for taking the time to put your first review on TA for us. Glad he cleared his plate, but then I always do in our cafe ;-)
See you again soon, we hope.

Very friendly, nice coffee and tea. Teacake was delicious. Will definitely visit again when in Bakewell.

“Still as wonderful as ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

My husband and I have popped into Ricci's everytime we have visited Bakewell together in the past 10 years. The food is wonderfully prepared and is fantastic value but the main reason we come back for more are the patrons.

We are ALWAYS greeted with warmth and their desire to show great service is palpable. Just as last year, we bought our nipper (now 3 yrs) for lunch and the first thing to happen on both occasions was the gentleman staff passing a her childrens book and helping her leaf through the pages! Anyone with children of this age can appreciate that when your child is made to feel welcome, your experience immediately becomes a relaxed one.

The snug setting adds to the atmosphere with an open kitchen allowing the smell of cooking to permeate. The menu itself isn't "overstocked" - the first sign of good food to me is not having to flick through page upon page of choice - I would rather see fewer choices in the knowledge that the ingredients are more likely to be fresh and that the chef know how to master those dishes. Myself and nipper had pizza whilst hubs had a special (I forget the name and my Italian is fuzzy at best but I believe Cinque Terra?!? - apologies) all of which was delightful and a VERY reasonable price.

I thoroughly recommend popping in, whether it be for a hot drink or a bite - my only regret is that we are a whole hour away. Thanks guys x

Hi Rose?
Sue & I are humbled by your lovely review. It says it all really, how we feel about the 'job', and how we want visitors to feel when they visit.
You were right on the Cinque Terra, it's our take on representing the five areas of Italy in one dish (invented, like most others on the 'specials' menu, in Ricci's cafe).
We look forward to seeing you all again, and thanks again for the lovely review.

“Excellent food, people and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Today, Boxing Day, we went for a walk in Bakewell and called in at Ricci's Bar for a drink and something to eat. Sue and Les are excellent friendly hosts and lovely people. We had freshly made pizza which was the best we have ever eaten. It is far superior to the pizza from a local family Italian restaurant in Chesterfield. The coffee was excellent too. We would highly recommend Ricci's Bar for quality food, drinks and exceptionally friendly service. Sue and Les topped our walk out in Bakewell perfectly.

“Fabulous coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

We stumbled on this place when looking for somewhere to get inside out of the cold for a coffee. We did not eat here so cannot comment on that, but the coffees (latte and cappuccino) were perfect with an amazing amount of froth and lightly sprinkled chocolate for the cappuccino. It was very small and cramped with only a few inside tables and no customer toilets (attended public toilets nearby), but perfect for a coffee. The kitchen was open to the eating area and served Italian fare. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.
