Very good hotel , difficult to find fault , excellent rooms , restaurant , prices . Little touches like real milk in rooms instead of plastic pods , night lights in bathrooms , excellent breakfast.
Just a really excellent independent hotel , not part of a chain. Go for the D,B&B option.

We stayed here for one night for a party we were going to in town. My husband forgot to actually book but the receptionist was delightful and sorted us a room. The room was larger than most hotels and of a high standard. After the party we used the bar with friends and again all the staff were lovely. We had breakfast the next day and the waiting staff couldn't have been nicer. I would recommend it to anyone.

Just stopped overnight whilst attending a conference - the room was very comfortable, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They have quite comprehensive room service available though I did not use this. The bar staff were very knowledgeable about their drinks/offerings and the breakfast was really good too.

Dear Andy F

Thank you for posting your review on Tripadvisor. I am delighted to read that you had an enjoyable stay. The bar team have a wealth of experience, making Barca the ideal place to enjoy a favourite cocktail or sample one of our world beers. Breakfast in Cocina is available to non-residents daily and much of the produce comes from our owners farm only a few miles away - we agree it is hard to beat. I hope we may be able to welcome you back to Casa soon.

Kind regards

Stuart

After much research we booked this hotel to help us celebrate a special occasion.
Upon arrival, the building looked impressive, and the car parking was plentiful. We took our cases to reception where we were met by a receptionist who confirmed our two night stay and just handed over our room key. We were not informed how to get to our rooms, when and where breakfast was taken or where restaurant was. We entered our room to find that the room had not been made up to accommodate our daughter. The receptionist could clearly see that there were three of us so why allocate a room for two? We contacted reception and an extra bed was brought and set up. This caused us even more distress as the z bed was set up directly next to the double bed. How on earth were we expected to access the bed? We moved the furniture around a little, however, this did not get over the fact that the room was minute. There was literally no room to move around at all. These rooms are simply not big enough to accommodate anything other than one or two people. We have stayed in many hotels around the world and have never been so cramped.
Regardless of space the room also showed many design flaws. The lighting was poor, almost impossible to apply make up. The electric sockets were placed by the desk, no sign of any by the beds which is where they are needed. The shower screen was far too small for the size of the shower, which meant that the bathroom floor was constantly wet. The bed was far too soft for my taste and gave me terrible back ache.
We managed to find the breakfast room the next morning after first having to ask at reception. We were greeted by a staff member who just sat us down. No pleasantries, no information about how the breakfast worked or where everything was. We worked it out for ourselves and enjoyed a good breakfast both days ( although it would have been nice to have some maple syrup on offer with the porridge).
We did mention our disappointment on check out and the duty manager listened to our concerns and apologised. She was very professional and courteous and offered us an upgrade if we ever decide to return. However, I would rather pay a little more for a high end hotel. Actually I would probably be even happier paying significantly less for a much bigger room of a higher standard at a Premier Inn!
I suspect if we had been able to book a suite as we had hoped for then maybe things would have been different. I liked the theming of the hotel, the decor was contemporary and stylish. The rooms were of a high standard with superior bathroom, curtains etc. The breakfast really was excellent too. I think maybe we were just unlucky. It happens and I wouldn't say that this is a bad hotel by any means, but number 5 in the country? Not for us.

Dear ninabean

Thank you for taking the time to review Casa. I am sorry that the room was not already set with the extra bed that was required, this unfortunately was overlooked when the reservation was checked. The receptionist allocated that room to you as we had already put a card in the room congratulating you on your anniversary and none of the other rooms had an extra bed already. I am sorry for this error.
I am surprised you found the lighting to be poor, there are two desk lamps along with reading lamps, ceiling spotlights and 2 bedise lamps again with reading lamps along with spotlights in the entrance hallway, with the floor to ceiling window in the room we feel that all of our rooms have more than adequate lighting. Our power sockets are located on the desk directly below the mirror, I am confused as to why there would be the need to have sockets next to the bed meaning our guests would have to leave any items plugged in on the floor. Many of our guests have laptops and the desk space is perfecty equipped for this requirement.
I am pleased you enjoyed breakfast both mornings.
Thank you for your feedback, had we known of the issues during your stay I am confident we could have rectified them for you.

Kind regards

Mark Thurman

Booked the hotel for me and my partner for an easy night away on valentines day. The hotel did not dissapoint, i booked with booking.com and almost straight away had a lovely email from the hotel asking if i required restaurant reservation, or anything to make my stay more special. It was very easy to get to with lots of parking spaces available which is always a bonus. As it was valentines day the Hotel was rather busy with couples also there was a wedding on putting extra pressure on the reception staff but they were brilliant, so polite and dealt with everybody as quick as they could. We stayed in a normal deluxe room which was still luxurious! i opted for an add on package which included chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of cava and fluffy dressing gowns and slippers which were all ready for when we walked in, A lovely touch! Had a brilliant a nights stay here and was definatley worth every penny! A real bargain for the quality of the hotel. would 100% stay again.

Excellent, easy to find location. Facilities are first class. Attentive and friendly service. The food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this venue. Wifi is free and fast. The views from the top floor meeting rooms are amazing (if sometimes a little distracting).

Room Tip: Use this hotel. It's first class.
