“The benchmark for all hotels to strive toward.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

I've stayed here a few times on business. It is by far, the best hotel in and around Chesterfield.

PROs
Free (strong) WiFi, extra large comfortable beds, LCD TV, fridge in room with complimentary bottles of water and pint of milk. Added touches, heated mirror in shower room, self thermostat in room. Whole atmosphere is friendly, clean and quirky. You'll see what I mean with the statue at reception and grandfather clock on 1st floor.
Breakfast is always superb and eggs made to order, laid fresh by the chickens from the owner's farm. Plenty of parking. Nothing out of place, cracked or broken.

CONs
A couple of miles from town centre and station (taxi £4-£5 depending on network)
No swimming pool (Ringwood Hall wins on that front)
Room rates are at the higher end, but you really do get what you pay for.

NEARBY
Tesco 24hr across road.
5 min walk towards football ground and there are a host of local pubs and restaurants. I sampled a few and I'd favour the Red Lion pub and definitely Delhi41 Indian Restaurant.

We stayed one night for a family Birthday. It was fabulous from the moment we arrived. We didn't leave the hotel for 24 hours as the weather was so bad and the hotel was warm and welcoming. We stayed in the bar drinking and had tapas (which were delicious) until the rest of our party arrived.
The staff were fantastic throughout our stay and they really couldn't do enough for us. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms had everything and more to ensure our comfort. The temerature was perfect. Not at all stuffy I liked the fact that a whole pint of milk had been left in the fridge (there is never enough milk in hotel rooms) along with two bottles of water. Another nice touch was that there were take out cups with lids for tea or coffee. The other thing I noticed was that the hotel was quiet. There were no noises coming from the corridor or other rooms that could be heard.
We had a meal in the restaurant in the evening. The food was delicious and very well presented. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough.

Dear Barbara G,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay here at the Casa Hotel, I am so pleased to hear that your visit here was so enjoyable. I appreciate all the great things you have to say about the staff, we are very fortunate to have such a great team within Casa. Did you know that the majority of the food served within the hotel is sourced from our owners organic farm, Walton Lodge, which is located just four miles from Casa?

We look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.

I booked online at the Casa hotel for a one night stay as it was my husbands birthday.
We were not disappointed.
This is a lovely hotel with a warm welcoming staff.
The entrance to reception is light and modern as are the corridors, landings and lifts.
Our room was large with a queen sized comfy bed, Large flat screened TV on the wall and comfy armchairs. Free wifi is available. There was also a fridge with two complimentary bottles of water and a carton of milk.
The bathroom didn't disappoint either, having a bath with rain shower and hand shower over. The only thing about the bath was if you have problems with lifting knees, legs or just a shorty pants like me you may find it a bit of a struggle - lovely for a soak though being so deep! Heated towel rail, complimentary toiletries and a wall shaving mirror on a pivot was also included.
We enjoyed a Latte and danish pastry in the bar around 4.00pm before showering in readiness for our evening dinner in the Cocina.
The food served here is generally organic from a local farm, The walton Lodge farm.
Again it didn't disappoint, being beautifully cooked and served by a welcoming and pleasant waitress.
The hotel is sound proofed and so we enjoyed an excellent nights sleep.
The breakfast is buffet style with a good selection of continental and full English. Tea/ Coffee is served at your table.
The lovely hotel is quite close to Chesterfield town centre and the railway station.
We would definately return!

Had to change rooms as the ones near the the main road was noisy due to heavy traffic but receptionist was happy to change. Restaurant food was mixed but the waiting staff were superb !! Beds are out of this world ...so comfy. We thought we would treat ourselves to brekkie in bed which looked fantastic when it arrived but was stone cold !! The overall experience was really good and some of the hotel additional touches are fab . The staff are the jewel in the crown ..well done team I hope the owner is very proud of you all.

Dear Julia S,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your experience here at the Casa Hotel, I am so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Did you know that we actually sell our award winning king sized beds which we have in our rooms? I am so sorry to hear that your breakfast in bed was cold; the kitchen assured me that there was no delay in it leaving the kitchen and each one is brought up by one of our waiting staff in a closh to ensure that it remains hot for as long as possible.

We hope to see you again on a return trip to chesterfield.

Regards
Stuart

Due to a family bereavement my wife and I spent several days over the last three weeks at the Casa. I have commented as to how good the hotel is before - if anything it is better.

The staff are amazing right from breakfast to night time room service. I have never expereienced such friendly, helpful and considerate reception. They were quick to accomodate our two young grandchildren

Food wise - I haven't tasted better Tapas anywhere and the service is excellent. We had two large parties in the bar and the service was brilliant.

We held the wake at the hotel for ~80 people and the Casa pulled out all the stops to make it memorable.

My wife and I are so impressed that we have threatened the staff that rather than a Home we will stay permanently in our old age.

This is a great hotel - modernistic but still treats you as if its home.

We booked this hotel on the Friday Night Special Offer for £120.00. From stepping into the hotel, all the staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. Our bedroom and ensuite were spotlessly clean and the bottle of fresh milk and water in the fridge were nice touches as were the homemade bisucuits and good selection of teas and coffees. Included in our stay was an evening meal in the restaurant (£30.00 each allowance included in our price). The food was delicicous and again the staff so professional yet so friendly. After a lovely 3 course meal we had a few drinks in the bar and would like to thank the barman on duty that night for recommending the lager-very tasty. It was a shame to go home the following day but had the breakfast to look forward to and again the food was realy tasty and such a choice. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay-we actually live in Chesterfield but after seeing the hotel built and driving past it nearly every day we are so glad we made the decision to choose it.

Decided to take a short stay at this hotel on a wet, cold Monday Night. The room was fantastic (upgraded to a Balcony Suit) thank you so so much, staff were professional, helpful and very courteous. Dinner in evening was great, with a nice atmosphere especially for a Monday night. Having stayed at many hotels in the general area, I would rate the Casa as one of the very best. My wife and I will definitely be back, and soon.
