“Excellent visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

This is a small National Trust property but the staff there are very knowledgeable and like imparting that knowledge. The mill is small but very well maintained, and gives a good insight into the milling in that area over the centuries. Certainly worth a visit and being close to Hardwick Hall seeing both is possible

“A good flour mill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Internally this is a good flour mill and the workings are well maintained and preserved. The workings are obviously very similar to a windmill, the only difference is that this one is water powered. I was a little disappointed that due to the construction of the building it was not possible to see the stream powering the mill. Nonetheless, this is a worthwhile visit.

“worthwhile calling in if going to Hardwick hall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2013

If you are interested in old working mills etc..this is a good one, the guide shows you exactly how it works and still grinds flour , we called in on a visit to Hardwick hall and are NT members otherwise its an extra £ 3.60 per person.
