“The Best Food! friendly service, lots of fun would 100% recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

We visited bradford-on-avon this week and chanced upon this great pub, they opened up early for us and we enjoyed every minute. The landlord was friendly and very helpful recommending other places to visit including the Wadworth brewery in Devizes. We decided to stop for lunch and were glad we did, everything was freshly made and served with a smile, it looks like they have fun here and it was great to see and hear music from vinyl, I was very jelous of the Bang & Olufsen speakers but Buddy Holly did sound great with the crackle and pop. For those who like good food, fun and a great atmosphere I would recommend that you stop here as soon as you get a chance.

“Our favourtie Sunday afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Park the car in the Kennet And Avon Car park just abouve the lock (entrance just past Sainsbury's). Drop down onto the warf and have ice cream in the K&A tea rooms when open in season ( not listed on Trip Advisor) and watch the boats and swans. Cross the road to the Canal Tavern and park our behinds with a pint for him and a hot chocolate for me in the garden ( in the summer full of hanging baskets) and people watch the passers-by on the tow path. Have a a wonderful sunday lunch or if piggy one of the home made beef burgers ( no horse here!) followed by a pudding. Then carry on walking down the tow path to the steps behind the tythe barn. Wander round the carft shops shops and loop round back. Have another wee drinky in the canal tavern and then home. A great day out.

“Lip-smackingly good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Having decided to go for a walk and eat to the lock inn as usual we popped into the canal tavern for a warm as the lock inn was closed. So glad we did. We had a cheery welcome in the garden bar. Looking at the food coming out we decided after all to eat. We had some of the best cod in home made batter I have ever had and a home made Turkish burger and chips. Beautifully cooked, we woofed it all down. And, the surprise - an old fashioned pot of tea, just like granny used to use. Not seen a pot of tea served like this for years and plenty in it for top-ups. Shall be making this our regular stopping place now.

“Amazing ! Wonderful Evening !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

We Arrived in Bradford On Avon and decided to take a stoll along the Canal on our return we noticed a sign for hot mulled cider.
We were warmly welcomed the the cider was wonderful, so after chatting for a while decided to stay for a meal, which was obviously freshly homemade the sausage and chorizo casserole was a real winner !
We will definately be going again :)
