“Winter wonderland December 2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

Greated on arrival by helpful friendly staff and unrivaled beautiful woodland you just can't go wrong with Centre Parcs Longleat Forest.
We stayed in the new style executive 2 bed lodge and found it clean and inviting. The kitchen is fully equipped and perfect for self catering although did find the oven a little slow.
Traveling around the site is easy, cycling or walking is the best way to enjoy the surroundings but there is a regular land train that runs a route around the park.
There are lots of activities to choose from on site to suit all budgets. We tend to buy an activity a month in the run up to going. Swimming at the pool is of course free and occupies the family for hours with wave pool, outdoor pool, rapids, lazy river and flumes.
There are plenty of choices to eat out although booking in advanced is advisable although not always essential. Although, as mentioned in other reviews the price at the restaurants is higher than normal high street prices.
The park is decorated really well for winter wonderland. The kids loved the reindeer and Santa. Decorated with lights and snow which really made a magical atmosphere. Lights are a must see after dark. There is also a good fireworks display each week.
A good quality family holiday without travelling abroad.

We visited Longleat Centre Parcs as part of a group of 14 and overall we enjoyed the experience. The Parc was well decorated and festive for our preChristmas break. We really enjoyed ten pin bowling with 5 of the youngsters in our party and we enjoyed generally exploring the venue. So many opportunities for things to do, you could never be bored. We really loved the aqua experience, although the changing rooms were rather grubby, but I suppose difficult to keep clean given the number of people using them. There was one huge drier that you could pay £1 for to dry you off. Pleasant experience, but not desperately efficient, and it looked as if the filters needed a good clean. That aside the amount of different things to in the water was really great, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had accommodation in a one bedroom apartment, and although it was comfortable, the cleanliness did leave something to be desired. The fridge had ring marks, some of the crockery and cutlery needed to be washed before use, and the bathroom floor had not been cleaned. I know I could have complained, but I did take some antibacterial wipes, so a quick whiz around and all felt cleaner (not what I would have expected given the price for the break - hence the low review score). That aside, we enjoyed a family meal out at the Grand Cafe, we enjoyed seeing the reindeer, and the firework display was spectacular. For the little kids - seeing Santa come across the lake, after the fireworks, was a magical experience.
I understood that cars, once unloaded, were supposed to be taken back to the car park, so I was surprised to see how many cars were still around on the site. I can understand service vehicles, but are there different "rules" for different guests? Didn't make it quite as safe as I had anticipated, especially as not many people observed the very sensible speed limit.
We were pleasantly surprised by our break, and would come back, bringing the antibacterial wipes with us!

Having just returned from our visit to Longleat, it was fair to say it felt much improved upon from our last visit. The decorations were absolutely lovely and the winter wonderland was really pretty. The villa was thankfully a refurbished one, last January we had the misfortune to be in a decidedly grubby inferior villa. Unfortunately, most of the dishes and the oven were dirty on our arrival this time but fortunately the dishwasher sorted out that particular problem.
I will say the bright orange rug and walls are really out of character with the whole ethos of relaxation that CP is all about, sack Linda Barker!
The same old chestnut about overpriced restaurants is still relevant, such a shame as we would have liked to have eaten out as a family more.
The staff were as polite and friendly as ever but the defective patio door we reported was never rectified. The door was so stiff I injured my shoulder opening it. The 'repair' team keft a note to say it had been adjusted but it hadn't been and despite reporting it again, it was not fixed during our stay. Beware of Villa 511, I'm having to seek treatment for my wrenched shoulder.
Overall CP Longleat is still the absolutely brilliant holiday destination that my family and I have been enjoying since it opened and despite the little irritations, will probably continue to do for many years to come.

Room Tip: For a quieter exoerience, choose a villa away from he plaza

Have been meeting up there just before Christmas for years now and always good. This time we packed in more activities and had a busy refreshing time. I felt the staff were incredibly friendly and obliging on this visit. The afternoon tea for 2 was very good value - only a pot of tea, instead of one cup, would have improved it. Sandwiches and scones were very good, as was the service. Woodland lodges are good but Executive woodland lodges are super with big treat bathrooms and many extras. Air temp in subtropical swimming paradise is much better than in previous years as was cleanliness in changing rooms. Looking forward to next year!

Room Tip: Some early 100s are near carpark and mean you may not need to park outside the villa to unload. Exe...

I've just got back from an amazing time at longleat centre parcs. Me and my girlfriend went as an early Christmas present to eachother and it was so worth it. The room we were staying in was great! Clean, comfy and with beautiful surroundings. We were out all day enjoying the beautiful forrest and what centre parcs had to offer. We didn't do much activities mind you , because it's quite expensive but we kept ourselves entertained with the free stuff like the swimming pool/rapids/slides and going exploring in the woods and being big kids in the adventure playgrounds. We did enjoy going to the sports centre and getting competitive with reasonably cheap activities like pool and table tennis as well. They also put on a free fireworks night which was awesome and the Christmas feel and lights all around the park added to the magical effect. All in all it was a great week and the staff there were very welcoming and nice! will deffo be coming back!

We stayed in a four bedroom villa with two other couples and two children. The weather was atrocious, but we had a wonderful time. All the bedrooms were ensuite, and there was a sauna, steam room, outside hot tub and barbeque. There was a fire in the dining area of the open plan kitchen/dining room and lounge, which we initially thought was a wood burner, but was actually gas, but so cosy. The two girls - 7 and 8 years old went to see Santa, and we fed the real reindeer, which delighted them( the girls and the reindeer!).
The walks through the forest were lovely, and there are so many healthy and exciting things for both children and adults to do, although it is very expensive, so be careful what activities you promise the children. The firework display was excellent, even though we all got thoroughly soaked in the torrential rain.
I would heartily recommend staying here, with the caveat about the extra cost for certain activities.

We try to offer something for everyone at Center Parcs and I was so pleased the whole family enjoyed our Winter Wonderland experience.
The reindeer are very popular with all ages and it’s great to hear that your girls loved it too.
We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and hope to see you again sometime soon.
Kind regards
