I feel a traitor writing my feelings here and not writing to Center Parcs directly which I have with problems I have encountered in the past, however I also feel Center Parcs would as they have before just throw silence money or free holidays at me rather than addressing the issues concerned so I have decided to 'go public'.
Myself and my family have stayed at Center Parcs Longleat around 25 times since it first opened, we have taken friends and extended family and have also recommended it to countless friends over the years, we have encountered problems before but these have always been dealt with 'in house' so I feel it is unfair to mention them is this review.
So this review is purely for a one night pamper break that my husband took me on for a belated birthday gift on 1st February 2013.
On arrival at 10.15am we had to queue in the car for 20 minutes as it was a Friday (an arrival day), when we eventually reached the kiosk we were told that they could not help us and we were directed to the pamper day car park, on arriving at the car park it was full! we drove round and round for over quarter of an hour eventually leaving the car blocking two others in, we walked to reception and explained that we were unable to park they said it was fine to leave the car where it was and said they would take our registration number and they would find us to move it if necessary - not very relaxing !! my husband refused and went back to the car park where he waited for a space ! fortunately this was not long and he joined me at 11.10 in the cafe, we ordered coffee and a pastry ( from the bottom shelf only we were told curtly) we were then asked when we would like lunch, as our treatments were 2pm and it was already 11.10am we requested 1pm and were told that slot was full !!! we decided on 12.30pm which was too early really but we didn't want to go later than 1pm as we would have felt uncomfortable during treatments and the other alternative would have been after 3pm which was too late.
We had our coffee and proceeded into the spa area at around 11.40am it was packed! the pool was full and we struggled to find seats we only had a short time in this area before we needed to be back ordering lunch (again not relaxing clock watching), we both ordered pasta at 12.35pm and with difficulty found a table it was unpleasantly busy and felt like a conveyor belt , we waited ages and ages for lunch which came out at 1.10 pm!! it was a stodgy bowl of tasteless slop we both picked it over then decided to go and sit in the peaceful pre-treatment area as it was 1.30pm by then, treatments were nothing special I was lucky mine was an un disturbed 1 hour but my husband had to change therapists after 30 minutes, after treatments we left as it was so awful and overcrowded within the aqua sana it was not relaxing or enjoyable in any way very very disappointing.
We had a redwood apartment for our overnight stay which was tired looking, I decided to have a shower as the changing rooms and showers in the aqua sana were heaving, the shower in the apartment was terrible the head did not stay at the top of the pole it was sliding down the whole time my body was being pierced by around 12 jets of water as the shower head holes were so bunged up ! my husband decided on using the bath a safer option, pretty poor Center Parcs !
Our evening meal was booked at Rajinda Pradesh we have eaten here on many occasions, however this time we were very disappointed, service very slow my husband's meal was cold, and mine had undercooked chewy old mushrooms in it (vegetarian) we told the waiter who collected our half eaten plates and he just apologised and offered us free desserts which we declined .
General observation on the whole of Center Parcs was surprising we have NEVER seen litter there before in all the years we have stayed, this time however we were shocked to see sweet and cigarette wrappers thrown on the grass right outside the window of our apartment - sadly the whole ethos of Center Parcs seems to have changed it is now a greedy, money making conveyor belt shipping people in and out like animals and making as much money as they can from them, and certainly NOT offering the quality or care in customer service that once existed in abundance.
