“A lovely stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

My boyfriend and I planned a trip to Longleat safari park and needed a place to stay, and chose Deverill End because of it's close location. Even before we'd made our trip, we were provided with great service: Joy (one of the B&B owners) booked our tickets for us which came with a discount. Picking these up at the gate was so easy, and would really recommend going through the b&b for your tickets.

When we arrrived Joy & Sim were extremely welcoming, helpful and personable. The view from their veranda was stunning; a perfect accompaniment to the tea and biscuits we were given as soon as we walked in the door. Our room was full of character, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also delicious.

If we are in the area, we would definitely stay here again!

A last minute decision to go to Longleat Safari Park meant we wanted a B&B as close as possible so we could get there nice and early. Deverill End, being only a few miles from the Park came up so we called and booked. From the moment we walked in the door we were welcomed in by Sim, followed by Joy a few minutes later, and we felt right at home. We couldn't help but look around the gardens and views before going to our room, it is a stunning location, our 7 year old daughter was in her element watching lambs bounce around the field in front, chickens and ducks to check out and lots of room to run around. Our room was homely, clean and the en-suite was well stocked, towels, flannels, shampoo etc. Our room was downstairs so after putting our daughter to bed we felt at ease to sit on the patio and watch the sunset! We slept extremely well, it was so quiet, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was yummy, two freshly laid eggs each, sausage, bacon, the works. Joy even catered for our fussy daughter! With the added bonus of discounted Longleat tickets thanks to Joy, I would choose to stay here over a travelodge anyday!

I stayed at the B&B with some friends at the end of September as we had a wedding down the road in Longbridge Deverill. The B&B was well known locally - The George Hotel recommended it as they were full, and the taxi firm in Warminster station needed nothing more than the name Deverill End to get us there easily. Joy and Sim were wonderful and friendly - we all enjoyed staying in their lovely house, and felt like we were part of the family. The food (and everlasting tea!) in the morning was brilliant, especially appreciated by our tired and suffering heads from the night before. Thank you - I would recommend you to all. Hopefully I will come and stay again!

I was attending a training course nearby I chose this because it was very near to the centre.
My wife and i enjoyed it so much we are going to book later on in the year for a holiday.
Joy and Sim are a lovely couple and we were made very welcome and enjoyed looking around the garden with Sim and sharing ideas. Their home is lovely and when you step out at the rear wow what beautiful view. and location
Clean home, great breakfast as much as you want , if you need more tea bags or coffee, just ask, its no problem. See you soon. Harry and Lynda-Lee Hemsley from Abram, Wigan

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice obviously the room at the rear has the best view,

The owners Joy and Sim were very welcoming and accommodating! The B&B is in the most lovely setting and their garden is definitely worth a look around...beautiful! The breakfast was gorgeous and consisted of as much home grown ingredients as possible. The room we stayed in was clean and fresh with the view out the back which was a bonus! Longleat park is only 15 minutes away and well worth a visit too!!

On the basis of some very good reviews we chose to stay here and were very disappointed. The house ittself is very nice but the impression of supplying the minimum required is overwhelming. The hospitality tray was the meanest I've ever seen ((a couple of tea bags, one biscuit each etc) and the breakfast was equally as mean(cheap streaky bacon for example). What a shame because it could have been so nice.We will stay elsewhere in Warminster next time.

We are sorry your stay with us was so disappointing.

Regarding the streaky bacon, not cheap, I have to order in advance or else it's sold out, so very popular. We have tried large slices of back bacon, not generally liked; we receive such remarks as 'O lovely, real bacon'.

The tea tray is fairly standard, a choice of two herbal teas and ordinary indian tea, plus biscuits. As we offer tea on arrival, if a suitable time, I think quite reasonable.

I visited Deverill End with my girlfriend for an extended weekend break and found the experience fantastic. Both Joy and Sim are devoted to providing a personal touch during your stay and they make you most welcome. The food is locally sourced and there are a variety of local restaurants to visit if you so wish. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue if you are after a quiet and tranquil break set in the rolling countryside. I have since suggested that my parents should pay them a visit!
