“Weekend Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

What a fantastic B&B. Debbie and Richard could not do enough to ensure our fleeting visit was memorable. From drinks on arrival, to free shuttle runs to the Star of the Sea Church and offers of lifts into Portstewart when the weather wasn't good. Breakfast was yummy and plentiful. Although our double room was small and didn't have an en-suite we did have the use of a bathroom to ourselves (We were advised of this when booking), the bathroom was beautifully designed and decorated with white fluffy towels.
Overall, staying at the Strandeen was a real delight and I look forward to returning soon. A big thank you to Debbie (Julia Roberts!) and Richard (Gear -box!) for making our stay so memorable.

Spent a 2 night break at Strandeen Bed and Breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Really impressed by the professionalism of the owners Debbie and Richard, their excellent knowledge of the local tourist trails, attention to detail within their beautiful home and a natural ability to make each guest feel extra special. We haven't been so well cared for in many 5 star hotels! Beds were amazing - beautiful white linens and down comforters - only complaint, we found it hard to waken in the mornings. Breakfast was a delight, French toast and berries, maple ham, homemade breads and much to my wife's delight, fresh pressed coffee.
Travelling in Ireland has been a memory of a lifetime but staying in Strandeen has been a special memory and provided us with the comfort and pampering we needed within this tiring trip.
Well done guys, you've done an amazing job, probably the best out there!

Stayed 2 nights in an upstairs room with a great view of the beach. Inn was very clean and comfortable. Room was a bit tight but adequate. Debbie and Richard were attentive. Breakfast was top notch but limited to cold cereals, yogurt and egg dishes. One suggestion would be to offer a bit more in the way of bottled waters, snacks, etc. particularly for this kind of boutique B&B and the price.

We stumbled across Strandeen on a last minute trip to Portstewart and what an amazing discovery. Our room on the ground floor was large, immaculately clean and beautifully decorted and extremley comfortable. It was more akin to a boutique hotel than a b&b with plush towels and robes to enjoy along with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The b&b is really well located and overlooks the beautiful Portstewart strand as well as being a 10 minute walk into the centre of Portstewart. The impressive lounge/breakfast area over looks the magnificent strand and there was a fresh breakfast buffet on offer along with a home cooked breakfast prepared to your taste as well. Overall a wonderful b&b with warm hosts that is certainly worthy of its 4 stars. Oh and they can arrange hire bikes and vintage car tours too! I would highly recommend!

4 golfers stayed as an anchor (no pun intended related to the wonderful anchor bar in town :) ) to access the great links golf courses in the area: Portstewart, Portrush, Castlerock. Very accessible to all. Also Debbie and Richard were great, the place was super clean, etc. Definitely recommendable!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Had the bedroom downstairs which was kingsize, very clean, crisp white cotton sheets. We enjoyed the nestle coffee and (Irish) chocolate digestive bickies... I forgot my shampoo and conditioner but Debbie was very quick to accommodate us . The full irish breakfast was superb. I just wish the weather had been a lot better... It was cold, wet and windy.

We stayed at Strandeen with friends for a week in May. Although the weather was not perfect the B&B certainly was. It was our second time here, but this time we had friends with us. We knew they would enjoy Debbie's wonderful personality and warmth. She always had a smile on her face and could not do enough to make our stay memorable. The breakfasts were delicious and were always made to your specifications. Kept you going the whole day. We will definiately stay here the next time we are in Portstewart. The views from all the bedrooms are spectacular and the rooms themselves were clean and extremely comfortable. Would hightly recommend to any one who is going to be in Northern Ireland and particularly in Portstewart.

Room Tip: Any room would be great. Best views are from the upstairs rooms.
