“Nice serviceable hotel, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013 via mobile

Myself and my brother stayed in the Drummond hotel on a recent visit to Limavady for the Jazz and Blues festival.

On arrival there was some slight confusion about our reservation, as someone with the same name had rang to cancel a booking that morning. We quickly got our rooms sorted however and the staff were friendly.

Rooms were clean with a very spacious bathroom, and came with their own iron and fold on ironing board, which was a novel addition. Toiletries were sparse in the en suite, although plenty of clean towels.

Beds were comfortable and breakfast the next day was plentiful even though we arrived down quite late. It was a buffet style arrangement, plates were small but no one quibbled about a second pass of the tables.

Overall couldn't complain about the stay.

We spent 2 nights at the Drummond, staying in the Drummond suite. The room was delightful, quiet and very comfortable. Due to the antique furniture in the room there were no tea making facilities but the staff brought up a beautiful tea tray whenever we asked (including biscuits or toast). The public rooms were very pretty and always had fresh flowers. We felt quite spoilt.

Room Tip: choose the Drummond suite - it's worth it..

I booked this hotel as was attending radio one big weekend and they had a special offer. Website stated that hotel was 15mins from venue- more like a good half hour!
We arrived on the Friday and had a lovely meal in the bar. Staff were very friendly. Hotel dated but ok. The nightmare began at 11pm. The noise was terrible. Room felt like window was open and heavy traffic on the road. Also could hear everything the next door neighbours were saying including their tv! We could take no more and went down to reception to see if we could be moved. This request was facilitated however new room was very hot and noise even worse. We checked out at 2.30 am and headed home. This hotel ruined our weekend away. We drove down to the event the next day. Had booked and paid for 2 night stay. So disappointed. Even worse on my opinion was the fact we were let out by a night porter and no member of staff attempted to contact me the next day to see why we left. Also beds were tiny. Double bed really small. We are a young couple in are late 20s and I never complain but I want to make sure people don't make the same mistake as us. £184 wasted.

This hotel has it all, a great restaurant with good food choices, a bar with great pub beer, and a clean room with immaculate sheets,, the room a little small and the hotel a little on the 'had some use' side, but staff and owner are friendly and helpful and best of all the price is right. Would stay again. WIFI available

Room Tip: Away from the road and on the top floor

After a long drive through unfamiliar countryside we were pleased to finally find a good hotel at a reasonable price. The facility and furniture is all quite old and somewhat cluttered, but the service was fantastic. Hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly. The food in the restaurant was ok and also reasonably priced. Not a desired destination if you're traveling from afar, but a handy spot if you're in a jamb.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at The Drummond in October of 2012. My mother, sister and myself were doing a driving trip around Ireland and made our way towards the Antrim coast from Galway. We started to become very tired and we found The Drummond. The receptionist was really nice to us and offered us a room on the spot. When we got to our room, the television was not working so we called the front desk. The man working (I can't recall his name as it was so long ago) came up right away, and upon my mother asking if the hotel had vending machines, offered to bring us some snacks as we were famished. The man came back with the most amazing cake and toast for us. He was beyond kind.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, as the service was excellent and breakfast the next day was great too!

It has been nearly six years since our previous visit to the Drummond and my review of that time. We found the staff very welcoming, food good and a comfortable room so the standard has been upheld over the period. One or two minor areas of 'tired' bathroom fixtures but on the whole excellent.

Room Tip: Our (double) room no. 320 on this visit was slightly larger than previously and had a nice view. Re...
