“Good in parts”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

This hotel was very good - in parts. The room itself was spacious, well maintained and clean as were the communal areas. The majority of staff were very helpful and pleasant indeed and some meals were good, including room service. However, some food was very mediocre and some service in the restaurant let it down. The bathroom was well appointed and clean but there were no handrails leaving the user to grab a hot towel rail or a swinging shower screen. Although safety mats are available from reception the information about this is small and easily missed.

Stayed here June 20th / 21st on a Living Social offer.
Lovely large room (49 on first floor) recently refurbished with view of fields.
Complimentary chocolates were superb
All staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast buffet was ample and kept stocked up.
The inclusive set menu meal was OK but would have preferred to pay extra and eat from normal menu
Choice of 3 real ales in Twisted Boot bar
Had a meal in nearby Moat House Inn which was thoroughly enjoyed. Bar Manager Jordan was entertaining and recommended we should visit Worcester Cathedral, which we did, and we were impressed by its beauty.
Lovely stay in area surrounded by beauty and history

Room Tip: Ask for refurbished room. Note; if less mobile, there is no lift to first floor

Stayed here for 2nd time after 2 yr gap. Much improved over what was already an OK hotel.
Stayed in one of the refurbished rooms and cannot fault it - spotlessly clean, everything in working order, bathroom excellent. Took both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and all food was superb. The buffet breakfast had a good selection and everything was good quality. Service in the restaurant was very efficient and friendly.

Room Tip: Refurbished rooms are much better but cost slightly more - worth it.

Stayed here for one night with friends on Friday 21 June. I had a ground floor chalet as I have bad knees. Bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The food was good for both dinner and breakfast. Enjoyable stay again. Had stayed last year too.

We held our wedding here last weekend and stayed for 2 nights. We cannot fault this hotel at all. The staff were all absolutely brilliant and could not do enough for us....everything went without a hitch! The food at our reception was excellent and there was plenty of it! The buffet breakfast was lovely as was the food in The Twisted Boot.
We had the honeymoon suite in the older part of the hotel which wad very comfortable and spacious.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again

Stayed for 2 nights for my sisters wedding which was held in the hotels function room, all the staff were really friendly and helpful, our room was in the new block which was very clean, comfortable and contemporary. The buffet style Breakfast was really good too, as was the food in the twisted boot, I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if in the area.
