“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

My husband and I broke our journey and enjoyed a very nice lunch at this pub/restaurant. It serves wonderful food and all staff are very efficient and friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in this area, I feel sure you will be hard pressed to find anywhere better. Highest quality food with excellent presentation.

“Great Sunday Carvery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

My family regularly visits The Stag for Sunday lunch.
The staff are always very welcoming and friendly even at very busy periods.
There is an extensive food menu which includes a carvery on a Sunday (usually 4 meats on offer, pork, turkey and medium and well done beef).
All of the food is freshly prepared so at c£10 per head it is slightly more expensive than a Toby carvery and the likes but there's not a frozen stuffing ball or yorkshire pudding in site - all fresh, home cooked and delicious... well worth the extra few pounds.
Good choice of beers too including some cask ales (Greene King IPA, Purity) and Peroni.

“Great for a family reunion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012 via mobile

A table booked for lunch for 12 of us was laid out in of a room of its own which was ideal for us to meet up with relatives visiting from down under. There was a great menu choice with a set menu, tapas, or the full menu. Everyone, ranging in age from 18 months to 77 enjoyed what they had. We didn't know anything about it beforehand; was chosen as a halfway meeting point & ended up being just right .

“Not the best breakfast ....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Visited yesterday for the 1st time for the advertised Breakfast.

I could make this quite a scathing review but it seems to have a complete mixed bag of good to bad so perhaps it is the time of the day or the actual day you go that makes the difference!!
If that is the case I wish they would tell you the right and wrong days.

The Breakfast was priced at £7.50 for the full English. Two Bacon, one sausage, half tomato, half field mushroom, beans, two eggs. Plate was cold so consequently was the breakfast! Bacon was dry and hard as was the half a mushroom. The Sausage was in a world of its own and gave the impression that it hadn't been cooked at all, pure bread sausage, not browned under a grill... nothing. Left half of it on the plate. By the time you add on the cup of tea it was £9.40.

I did suggest to the unenthusiastic waiter that the Little Chef down the road is actually better and cheaper. The simple reply was "we have very good reviews on the internet"!! and "I'll mention it to the Chef".

Keep driving past I'm afraid and call into Alcester town. Several Breakfast spots available and much better value and quality.

Sorry STAG AT REDHILL you let us down badly on this.
