“Portadown's Answer to Fine Dining!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

I was in for dinner on saturday night with my partner and a few friends and I must say it was one of the best dining experiences we've had ever! We really appreciated the decor and friendly staff, as well as the efficient service (which couldn't be faulted). Another element we enjoyed was the fact that you can see into the open planned kitchen where the chef's are hard at work in a professional environment. Having eaten in michelin star restaurants we all agreed that it was definitely on par and when we were made aware of the new upcoming menu it gave us another reason to go back as we are very excited to see what they will come up with next as the standards just keep getting better and better.

“Gem of a restaurant in Portadown!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

Delicious well presented food in a lovely relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff! Tried Salt restaurant for lunch for first time today with my husband and we were surprised to find a restaurant that rivals and betters The Yellow Door for lunch! We've already booked an evening meal and are looking forward to it!

“first class dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Heard brilliant reviews from friends so had to try this place for myself, my husband is a great steak lover (and hard to please), he was delighted with what he got, i had the char grilled chicken and it was amazing. For dessert we both went for the pavlova - what a portion!!, very good indeed. The presentation of the food was first class, and you will go far before finding such standards. will definitely be back and will be recommending to everyone. Also the decor and service was top notch. All in all superb experience!!

“SALT - very average!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Called in on a Saturday night - staff were very pleasant but inexperienced.
We had 2 main courses - Chicken Goujons (not very ground breaking) and the obligatory mini basket of chips (could someone tell them things have moved on). My roast beef was ok - nothing spectacular - just ok.
The type and quality of food was what you would expect of pub grub - sorry but thats what it tasted like not what you expect for the surroundings.
For some unknown reason there was a very cold draught where we were sitting - couldnt figure out where it was coming from but we sat with our coats on as it was cold.
2 main course - 2 coffees and 2 drinks £30.00 good value .....for pub grub.
Could do with some staff training - staff pleasant but more not very polished in their delivery.
Dont know which type of market SALT is aiming for - at best pub grub standard.
