“Not just for the enthusiast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This is a museum that is seemingly visited very little by the average tourist to the area, but is well worth seeking out for old and young alike.Buses and Trams in varying state of preservation are found here as wll as an old model train layout and If you time it right your might arrive during the Show / rally day in October - a day not to be missed for the variety of vehicles on view and giving free rides on old and vintage buses form the north west .Various days of muliple tram cars in operation occur when for a small fee rides to and from the ferry teminable can be taken. Keep up the good work.

“A great museum - and free entry too!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

I used to live in Birkenhead, over 40 years ago, so I thought it was about time that I got to see a bit of the place! This museum is brilliant! Well - for blokes like me anyway who have not grown up yet! But I went with my lady and my 88 year old Mum and they both really enjoyed it too. We also enjoyed the bargain heritage tram ride to Woodside Ferry Terminal, with its superb views over to the Liverpool Waterfront. Our ride was on a restored Liverpool tram - the one Ken Dodd rode on in the BBC4 documentary. Next time I hope that I get a ride on their restored Lisbon tram or the open top Wallasey tram.
The museum is manned by a bunch of friendly, helpful chaps who told us to watch out for it on Michael Portillo's next series of Great British Railway Journeys.
Thanks for a great day!

“Worth a detour”

Interesting free old fashioned museum, keen enthusiastic volunteers on hand full of knowledge. You can get the tram from Woodside ferry terminal. Well worth a visit

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

Brilliant place, with a chance to ride on trams too.
Word of advice; visit while you can, before the council shut it down, in their "wisdom"

“Good if old transport items are your thing.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Lots of old trams, cycles, cars etc. A small slice of birkenhead that has been frozen in time. I think you can even ride a tram, if you go at the correct time.
