Breezemount House was a big surprise. We checked-in late in the dark and the loftiness of the house only became apparent next morning, in the sunlight. It’s in fact a mansion that largely keeps the aristocratic splendour of its older days. The history can be sensed while you walk along the passageways and stairs. There are about 13 rooms in total. My mom and I took two rooms on the first floor for a brief stop in Coleraine on our way to Derry. My room was probably one of the largest I have ever stayed in. There was a kitchen with a full set of kitchenware. So this room may have well accommodated a small party.
The breakfast was served at a glass terrace with nice views on the garden. It’s worth noting that the mansion sits on a tiny hill. And the room rate was more than reasonable!
Breezemount, we miss you!
