We live very near to this lovely garden. It has something to offer at any time of year, but spring is when its at its best. There is an interesting walk around the lake, every now and then another beautiful view opens up and you catch your breath. The Italian gardens and the sunken gardens are better later on. The grassy garden , full of magnolias and naturalised bulbs never fails to make my heart leap. The new head gardener seems to be doing a great job of refurbishing the gardens.
The newish and expensive carpark is a terrible waste of space and money, but its too late to fix that.
The café serves excellent light lunches and wonderful homemade soups. Its easy to get a quick and delicious lunch. they were thinking of having table service, which took for ever and made for long queues. Hopefully that idea has been binned!
The house is being refurbished at present and I haven't seen it since, Its very interesting and worth a look round in one of the bookable tours.
