My wife and I spent one night , B&B, in this seaside resort hotel and one night was enough! We last visited the same hotel about 10 years ago and it seems if the place has been stuck in a time warp since then. Dont let the recently painted facade fool you.
We were given a double room on the third floor and were informed that this was a larger than normal room, with a view - a view of the side street opposite that was! The carpet was dirty (complete with cigarette burns), the ensuite was tiny, the shower was stinking, the decor was jaded and faded and there was a damp smell from under the bed. There was a double and single bed in the room which didnt leave much room for anyrthing else, such was the limited size. Admittedly the sheets on the beds were clean and there was clean towels in the ensuite.
I know this hotel was listed as only a 2* (NITB awarded) and it only cost £70/room but a guest house or B&B would have been cheaper, and more homely.
I would normally be very supportive of my local business`s but what moved me to submit this review was that when I was leaving the hotel, a young French couple were signing in and felt embarassed to think what memories they would take home after a night in this place!
