“Happy with stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

We stayed here during July for one night. Our room was clean, a good size and nicely decorated. We had the room with a Jacuzzi that can only be used as a bath and with the window which is blocked by the fire escape. Yes we could complain about not enough towels and one or two other small things but overall we enjoyed our stay. At the end of the day this is only a guest house and you are not paying for a 5 star hotel. I saw other guest houses being advertised at higher prices and they were not of the same standard as this one. Our room was comfortable and so were the beds, the bath was never advertised as a Jacuzzi, so we weren't disappointed that it didn't work. There was a good selection of food for breakfast. The location of the guest house is perfect, sea views from the front windows and close to the centre of the town. If you are looking for somewhere that is central and good value for money then I would recommend Clarmont. If you are looking for 5 star hotel standards then I would suggest you go there and pay the rates.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Ideally located on the beach front in Portrush this B&B was perfectly clean comfortable but had some interesting idiosyncrasies. We only had a large spa bath in our bathroom (as per advertising) but were not allowed to use it. The walls were paper thin making for some interesting entertainment through the course of the night. Breakfast was pretty ordinary. Our room was large though and the wifi very good.

I am sure there are some rooms in this B&B that are nice but ours was terrible. There was a bad smell, which the owner attirbuted to dirty nappies that had been left by a previous guest. Two thirds of the window was blocked by a fire escape, which I appreciate has to be there, but the empty boxes, tins of paint, lose wires, and general rubble did not. The window was extremely dirty and the wood work in desperate need of painting. The bathroom had a jacuzzi that didnt work and the shower wasnt attached to the wall, there was three of us in the room and we were given only three towels, no hand towels or bath mat, which made getting out of the bath treacherous. I had to ask for extra towels and a mat. I wondered why a spoon had been left in the bathroom, to discover that the only way to get the plug out of the bath was to use the spoon to prise it out! There was only two cups provided, and no glasses. I could go on about many other minor complaints which on their own are not much but together added up to a rather dismal two days. Definitely wont be back

A comfortable room, quiet, and convenient for what Portrush has to offer. The TV lounge has excellent sea vies, and it is possible that some of the guest rooms do too. Mine did not, but it was very quiet. Had i been staying longer than two nights, I might have done something about the shower which was difficult to work, but otherwise everything was fine.
I may be returning.

This is well located with magnificent views over the bay. It is close to the Giants causeway and Bushmills. The rooms are clean but small- we were unable to open 2 cases without having to have one on the bed. Bathrooms are functional with a shower but no ledge to hold your toiletries so we had to have them on the floor. The bed was clean and a queen in size but the mattress was very lumpy and did not feel like it was a sprung mattress at all. Breakfast was excellent and you could have a decent cooked breakfast. Plenty of street parking available. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: There is no lift so consider asking for a low floor if you have heavy bags

We stayed in the "hot tub room" which was a delightful large bedroom leading down into a bathroom with Jacuzzi bath. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The Jacuzzi was lovely and really was an added bonus to the room. We were shown the t.v room which had gorgeous views overlooking the seafront. We were close to everything, including our favourite restaurant, the Ramore Wine Bar. Would most definitely consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Definitely spend a little extra on the hot tub room.

We orginally booked a basic double room as we had only planned to stay the one night - when we arrived the room was fine, comfortable bed, immaculately clean shower room overall we were happy, then at breakfast the next morning the guest house owner, Colin approached my partner and advised that they would be moving us to a bigger room for our 2nd night stay with a bath as they did not realise we had a child with us - WOW the room they moved us to was fantastic treble the size of the first room and with a jacuzzi bathroom - with fantastic views of the sea.
Overall we had a fantastic stay, breakfast was fresh with a wide variety to choose from, staff were very friendly and accommodating. TV / Playroom was a great feature. Close to all amenties, bars, restaurants, Barrys etc!!

Room Tip: Def recommend a stay here & ask for a front room if available they are fantastic!!
