“Comfort Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

The food is fresh, well cooked and good portion size, the tea time menu is individually priced which l like as eating 3 courses for £10 like other restaurants in the town is a bit much for me. The staff are very friendly, Jo the mgr is very professional & hard working. never have enough room for a dessert which is on display, spoilt for choice!!

“It is what it is”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

If you like to dine on a big wodge of food piled high on your plate that has come from opening boxes of frozen processed goodness and throwing it into a fryer and smothering it with equally processed sauce , then this is the place for you. If this is your idea of a fried beige nightmare, then this is not the place for you. The Christmas dinner was equally mediocre. Annoying when 3 lunches with a glass of wine each cost £38. I think there's a reason this place was nearly empty the Friday before Christmas. The waiter and waitress were lovely. The good news is that after 3 meals here I've finally learned my lesson...anywhere else is better.

“Service, food, value for money all excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We enjoyed a family party at the weekend and really enjoyed the whole evening. The staff were attentive, friendly and very competent. The great variety on the menu meant we had a drink at the bar while deciding what to choose, we were not rushed and they even took our orders and called us to the table when our meals were ready. All the meals were perfectly presented and the portions were generous. The garlic fries were so good we ordered more and they came quickly but were hot and fresh. There was little room for dessert but we were tempted by the ice creams sundaes so indulged a bit more. It was a great choice for a family meal and we will be back very soon

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Few gripes here. Asked for some bread for the table, snooty waiter landed back with the menu asking us which item did we want exactly. Why didn't they just put a bit of bread on the table when we asked we'd already ordered fillet steaks and wine so we were going to drop plenty of cash. Steaks weren't great. Pepper sauce wasn't peppery was just sickly sweet cream. I ordered peppered chips got poor chips with yet more cream sauce. Very limited wine list. Fine irish coffees though.
