“Returns the faith in steak!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

We enjoyed our latest meal in the ramore, in this case the bistro. I completely concur with the negative reviews in terms of system of ordering food and drinks, it's totally rubbish, and disrupts the flow of the meal for sure. That said, we know the systEm now, and we keep returning!

This time we had the bread starter, being honest a little naff, so don't bother with it.

For mains our table had a fillet and a sirloin... Both fabulously cooked. On the side we had asparagus and garlic fries. The sauces we chose were garlic butter (cold, not recommended) and pepper which was fair.

The star of the show to accompany the bovine was the faustino V11 Rioja!! ...and the rest was history!!

We shall return...

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

Visited here during a short spring break in Portrush and we were not disappointed. It's an unusual system that you order and pay at the bar before you eat but it worked and as the food was so good this didn't bother us. I had the seafood thermidore which was substantial and delicious. My husband had one of the steaks which he loved. We ordered a couple of sides and we were absolutely stuffed. We really loved this place and were so sorry that we weren't staying in Portrush longer as we would have gone back here again and again. The bar is also lovely, gorgeous open fire and friendly locals. Will definitely try to get back here, would nearly drive from Dublin just for the Seafood thermidore.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Visited the Harbour Bar in February after it had been recommended on Trip Advisor - and the excellent reviews weren't wrong. The open fire equaled the warmth of the host, Willie. He made a great ceremony out of pouring a Guinness and do ask for a Bushmills - even if you don't like whiskey. Wilie makes his own biscuits to accompany it and you just feel like you've found the kind of Ireland you could only dream about. Willie took the trouble to listen to my Dad's story, which is what made the experience so special. We were doing a trip down a memory lane and as great as that was, having other people like Willie interested in his story made it unforgetable - thank you Harbur Bar.

“Lively and good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

Having stayed in Portrush for a few days, this was the only place we had had recommended to us, and I am glad we came.
I'm not overjoyed by the ordering process, from the bar yourself, but the food is really good, so they are forgiven.
It's really busy, and we were there at a quiet time.
Certainly worth a visit.
