“Disappointing...as it could be so much better..!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

stayed here overnight as a wedding guest. Check in didnt have our booking and then were going to charge us full price ! sorted that out only to find at checkout they attempted to add another £30 to the agreed price. We had a deluxe room which was lovely and overlooked the golf course but my friends view overlooked a roof,so check before accepting your room.as we both paid the same rate. Our problem was the food .Its awful .We had the worst function food ever.but with a liitle effort could have been so much better.! reminded me of school dinners ..i jest not.! Then we sampled room service...pizza and chips..inedible !.Breakfast was ok just... very slow service ..and had to remind staff as other guests did also to bring tea and coffee.
This hotel has a reputation for poor food and boy did it live up to it.pity because it does have great potenial if only the management took the effort to try their own food ??? i rate this hotel as a 3 star..and woulldnt reccomend it for a wedding...nothing special ..on all levels..sorry!

Room Tip: request a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course...away from lifts,

Would recommend - Clean rooms, beds comfy but noisy pipes in the morning. Family rooms sleep 5 which is a great facility and very hard to find. Lovely grounds.

Staff in the golf club very helpful and friendly when we rented clubs for the driving range.

Location is about 15 minute drive from Belfast and over an hour to giants causeway. Staff friendly. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the bar food was nice (expensive for what you get however) and a glass of wine is extremely expensive!!

Pool small but seemed clean.

Wifi was free...

This hotel was chosen as it located in a rural area but with convenient access to Belfast city. I stayed there with a friend plus our small dogs in a large family room. The room was spacious and had sofas and an occassional table, a dog bed and bowel was provided (nice touch) and the bathroom had double sinks. Dinner was of a good standard and service was excellent despite there being two large functions on in the hotel - I have found such functions can compromise both food and service but not in this hotel. However, the function revellers were quite noisy whilst leaving the hotel and did disturb our sleep. Breakfast was of the ususal Hilton standard. I would definatley stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: If there is a late night function on in the hotel I would recommend that you are not accomodated clo...

We've just come back from a 4 night stay there with friends as we were touring around NI so they selected the property. The bar staff and restaurant staff are pleasant enough and very friendly and helpful and they save this hotel's rating.

Guest should be aware that the beds in this hotel are on wooden platforms, and make a lot of creaking noises when you roll over at night, which it was either my spouse being woken, or I all night long which really sucks.

Room 115, where do I start Hilton -- you should CLOSE this room! First the mattress was slanted to one side, and luckily upon approaching after 1 night the front desk had it replaced which helped with the bed creaking noise and somewhat made up for the Disco Nightmare from the Spa below that started every morning and went to almost 7pm every day.

It turns out, (as I complained politely but bitterly at checkout), that room 115 is directly over the Spa worker room. So you get a constant stream of boom-chukka-boom-boom all afternoon and early evening!!!! Why would anyone care one might ask -- let's say you go back to your room for some reading and relaxing, forget that. But wait, room 115 has an additional surprise in store, from ~ 0700 in the water pipes for rooms above make screaming noises that don't end until guests above finish their bathroom uses.

The room should be made/sold a torture chamber, or NOT sold to guests unless there is absolutely no other room, then at a 99% discount as there will be no peaceful afternoons/mornings there.

Room Tip: Avoid room 115 and rooms at the ends of the corridors as the plumbing runs through them on the ends...

Avoid!!!!

it is probably an acceptable hotel for a business trip, however we went for a romantic break.
we booked because it advertised a spa! it was more like a creche with a swimming pool. I phoned in advance and asked a staff member in the spa to send me an email on the spa services and prices. I'm still waiting on the email.

when we arrived and checked in the receptionist was so uninterested and unwelcoming, it appeared she was pretty miserable in her job. i asked about the resturants and if there were menus in the room. she said she would sent them up. she sent up a very poor bar menu. so when i went downstairs i asked about the restuarant only to be told it was CLOSED!!!

We had planned on checking in, using the spa, enjoying a nice meal and a bottle or two of nice wine. no chance!

so off we went to the spa. Terrible! it was full of children, running around and shouting they were in the so called hot tub/ bubble bath they call it. they were even in the sauna. we stayed for just under an hour. so much for a relaxing break.
whats the point in going away for a romantic break and leaving your kids at home only to be surrounded by other peoples kids. as a four star hotel i was expecting something like Galgorm spa, which is fantastic.

the only positive thing about the trip was the room was clean. The bed on the other hand was a total disaster. The hardest most uncomfortable bed ever.

We had to go out for a meal. so much for a relaxing break. i wish we had stayed at home. i did leave a comments card, but I have not received any response to date.

if you are traveling as a couple, avoid at all costs.
if you are travelling for business you will probably survive provided you don't want an evening meal in the resturant.

Room Tip: choose another hotel

Booked this hotel as a birthday treat for my husband and first break away from the kids , phoned the day before as it was the first time i had ever booked online before and wasnt to sure i had done it correctly. The lady i spoke to on the phone was lovely even though i felt a bit silly she really put me at ease and made me feel a lot better. The room we stayed in was lovely really clean and the bathroom was spotless, the grounds and the setting is really lovely and is so close to Belfast, Antrim and Ballymena. 30 mins after we arrived there was a card and a plate of mini cheesecakes sent to our room with happy birthday wrote in chocolate for my husband which was a lovely surprise ( think this was from the lady i spoke to on the phone just wish i had of got her name to thank her) Would love to bring the kids next time and book one of their family rooms, had a fab weekend so relaxing thank you to the lovely staff at the Hilton.

Found the service and accommodation below expectations. We were unable to eat in the restaurant as it wasn't part of our deal and told to eat in the bar. We were given twin beds which were uncomfortable and squeaky
