Owner description: The Causeway Coastal Route is a designated scenic tourist drive around the coast of Northern Ireland between the cities of Belfast and Londonderry. The route follows the coast and takes you to several major tourist attractions along the way including The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Dunluce Castle, The Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery and the Glens of Antrim. There are also nine scenic loop roads that run off the main Coastal Route. These are: Islandmagee, Slemish Mountain, Glenariff, Glendun, Torr Road, Glenshesk, Bann Valley, Binevenagh Mountain and the Roe Vally. One of these (Torr Scenic Road)is quite narrow so do be careful if your not used to our small roads, one tip is to pull in your wing mirrors on the Torr Road.

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

The Causeway Coastal Route has been rated one of the Top Five Road Trips worldwide and when you drive it, you’ll see why.

The three designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) are testament to the beauty of the area - The Causeway Coast, the Antrim Coast & Glens which includes Rathlin, Northern Ireland's only inhabited off-shore island, and Binevenagh with its dramatic cliffs. The ever-changing tapestry of scenery and colours, set against a dramatic coastal backdrop will take your breath away – making it the perfect place for a leisurely tour.

Start your journey in Belfast, and follow the coast road through the nine Glens of Antrim, winding between various picturesque villages and unforgettable scenic locations.

The route peaks at the Giant's Causeway on the North Antrim coast, before continuing west toward the walled city of Londonderry.

Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge free to get to but expensive to cross!

Giants Causeway free to get in under the bridge or over the top of the Visitors Centre. Do not waste your money paying for the Visitors Centre you are paying for a cafe and a gift shop!
Park on the road to the right of the entrance and walk in for free!

“Gorgeous Drive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2015

It is a very picturesque drive but very laden with traffic during busy season. Do not be in a hurry as you get nowhere fast in Ireland!

“Stunning view.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2015

Wrap up warm, because it gets cold on the North coast. But the trip is worth a little discomfort. The sights are fabulous.
