Having gone to the Jameson's tour in Dublin, as people who appreciate Irish Whiskey, we gave Bushmills a go. While there is no film to get you started (Jamesons tour), there was a young lady who knew everything and anything about the oldest distillery in Ireland, Bushmills. The tour is long, and be aware they ask no pictures taken as this is a working distillery and fires could occur from the smallest of flashes (the whiskey permeates the air in some rooms -- which isn't a bad thing). The only negative of the tour -- AND it can't be helped, is the heat in one of the distillery rooms. The guide warned us of it and did give anyone who suffered from the heat another way out into cool air, but everyone was beguiled enough to stay. At the end of the tour we had a complimentary glass of the of 12 year single malt Bushmills. There was an option to have a personalised label attached to any bottle purchased. We took the option and have a special bottle of our very own Bushmills. If you should stop at Carrick-a-Rede Island (just down the road) and be brave enough to give the rope bridge a go, you'll need to drive on up to Bushmills for a celebratory drink after the fact. Cheers!
