“Friendly Service, Good Food and Artwork!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

I enjoyed a recent visit after a long walk from Whitehead, The staff were very friendly and the coffee and desserts were great and reasonably priced. I had a magazine to read and a chance to look at the great local artwork on display. The restaurant is decorated well and I plan to return soon with my children.

“Food ok but i was short changed!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013 via mobile

The food is bog standard, no frills, cafe food - fry ups, sandwiches, burgers stew. I had a panini and the other person in my party had a fry. They were ok, nothing special.

The decor is nice and they display work of local artists which is also available to purchase.

I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but if in the area and hungry i may call back. The location isn't great (in a business park) although there is a carpark right outside.

The 2 meals and 2 cups of tea came to less than a tenner but it wasn't until we left that i realised i had been shortchanged £10 (was given change from a ten pound note when i had handed over a twenty) - i am not saying that this was malicious but check your change before u leave!

“A hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

A friend recommended I visit this restaurant. The place has been decorated as if you are on an old sailing ship, with rigging and barrels and port holes everywhere. I like that, too many other places are just made of cheap plastic with no imagination, like the same cublicles everywhere. Not here, the owners are both artists and must have had fun making all the decorations and even the furniture! You really have tio go and see it.
I liked their food very much, they make some delightful desserts. Paintings of birds by the owner adorn the walls, these are very detailed and quite beautiful, he's locally famous for them. Lots of free car parking outside, and wheelchair friendly.
