“You have to go before they realise the price is wrong”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2009

Turned down the first room offered, too big, too much space, good view of the castle, surely out of my price range. Plumped for smaller room at the back, clean, tidy, well decorated and flat screen on the wall - ideal. Gutted to find the room I turned down was a similar price. When you go request room 3 or 5. Owners only too pleased to advise you where to go and what to do and if you find their local you could be there a while.

“Friendly, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

Stayed here for 2 nights with my teenage son and daughter and found it relaxing, enjoyable, and very good value. We had a spacious and very comfortable 3 bed family room. The couple running the guest house were attentive but let you get on with relaxing and enjoying your stay. Situation is an easy 5 min walk from main Carrickfergus attractions. Accommodation should suit a wide variety of people - we had breakfast with satisfied backpackers and retirees.

“If I have stayed in a better guesthouse before, I can't remember when!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

Stayed just one night last week - absolutely superb, and have already booked five nights in August!

The Keep Guesthouse is very well located, just a couple of minutes walk from Carrickfergus Castle, and less than 10 minutes to the railway station. It is absolutely spotless, with beautifully furnished large rooms, complete with tea and coffee making facilities, and flat screen plasma TV's.

The traditional 'Ulster fry' breakfast is really excellent!

Heather and Ray will do everything they can to assure a perfect stay!

“Spacious rooms, great service, we'll be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2009

We spent a night at The Keep on our way from Dublin to the Giant's Causeway. We had a wonderful room, very spacious, lovely decorated and clean. It had three big windows with a nice view to the sea. The room had three big beds, a wardrobe and a comfy sofa and a huge flatscreen tv.
The location is ideal, close to the street leading to Belfast, but quiet and close to the town centre (castle, supermarket, cinema, restaurants and pubs) . It is perfect for a nice walk into town or to the harbour.
The Irish breakfast was delicious and with plenty of good things to choose from (tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereal, sausage, ham, eggs, tomato, potato bread, toast, jam, ...).

The owner and employees welcomed us warmly and had a lot of useful tips for our trip.

We definitely recommend this B&B and would go back any time we're around Belfast.
