“Keeping Healthy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

I regularly walk around peatlands with my Boyfriend in winter or summer it is a beautiful place with so many different trails we have never taken the exact same route keep discovering new trails. It is well catered for famalies also with the train that takes passengers around and lakes with ducks and a place where children can discover more about the animals that live in peatlands.Well worth and visit.

“Love peatlands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Absolutely love visiting peatlands, they have great walking routes with a map to plan where you should walk and they even have a little train for kids and the young at heart alike. It's really cheap too! (50p per child £1 per adult I think) also have a bog walk and often run events such as apple day etc. well worth a visit for a family day out!

“Wide range of beautiful woodland and bogland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Peatlands is well worth a visit. Don't be put off by the rather boring sounding name. It is a hidden gem which includes miles of paths through a wide range of different types of woodland, interspersed with tiny lakes and bogland. There is something for everyone here from young to old and it is free! There is a beautiful cottage with a fantastic "cottage garden" - this is the information centre. There is plenty of room for children to play and lots of picnic tables available, with seats at many points along the walks.
Just a couple of points to note - we printed off maps from the walkni. website which were really useful because the information cottage with the site maps, is quite a way away from the car park. The signs to the cottage are away from the main car park, just beyond the way out sign!! So when you park go to the extreme right to find the main signage, ignoring the gates straight in front of you.
There is supposed to be a cafe on site but we visited on a Friday in July - height of the season, but it was closed, which seems strange. There was no sign saying what opening hours might be.
Despite these minor irritations this a place not to be missed.

“What an brill place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2012

This is a really good place especially the range of walk they have planned out. Really good if you are a beginner runner like me and see your progress over the distances!

“Easy to Get Lost!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

It seems you could walk for days in here and not be on the same path twice. The area Peatlands Park covers is vast which makes it a great place to jog, once you have got your bearings!
