“Great Glamping weekend..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

Im not usially camper but this was definatly a glamourous camping experience! We stayed in Gurts Yurt, our friends in the airstream camper, both are brilliant.
They have thought of everything here, loved our Yurt, we enjoyed breakfast al fresco each morning, cooked in our own private yurt mobile with full kitchen. I could waffle on for ages about the place but your best bet is to get it booked and enjoy it for yourself, you will not be dissapointed, if there is anything you need to know before or during your stay Mary the owner is very helpful and informative. Thankyou for a very memorable, enjoyable and relaxing break, we loved it :-)

I have wanted to stay here for ages and finally my husband agreed. It was everything I hoped for and more. We stayed in gerts yurt. This was a truly beautiful put together Yert. Spacious yet cozy. The bed was huge, the log fire amazingly good even in October. In fact it was warmer in the Yert than in my house. The Yert mobile had a private bathroom and kitchen. It was a great base to go out and explore the Brecon Beacons and if we'd have come in the summer we would have been happy to sit outside all evening with a glass of. Wine instead we sat snuggled in the Yert instead. It is so peaceful. I loved it and would love to go back again.

We recently stayed at Ty Cefn Tregib when our daughter got married at Carreg Cennen. She stayed in the guest room and we , together with our son and his girlfriend, in the cottage. Both were well decorated and comfortable and the cottage offered us the chance to get together as a family. We appreciated the tea, coffee etc left for us. The beds were comfortable and clean and we felt very much at home ,enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the garden which offered us seclusion and privacy. we hope to return one day when we visit this part of Wales again. It`s not far off the main road but we felt a world away from the unwelcome noise of modern life.

A very enjoyable weekend break. John and Mary gave us a warm welcome and proved to be genuinely warm and helpful. There were many great little touches such as candles in the yurt, tea and biscuits in the kitchen, guidebooks and maps to borrow and a self-service shed for homemade jams, veg and very basic supplies. The kitchen and shower (in the yurtmobile) were spotless and very new with a good selection of pots and pans. Shower was powerful and as hot as you like.

The yurt was in its own private area which included decking overlooking the river. A perfect place to have breakfast. As the yurt is very close to a small waterfall (much bigger after rain!), expect to hear it at night (very soothing in fact). Our first night was pretty chilly (down to about 3C) so we really needed the wood burning stove (fully filled it lasted about 4 hours on a v low air setting). Despite having my own stove for years, I found that this one did take a little getting used to. More than 50% air open, the wood will burn very quickly. About 5% or less open and the wood will smoulder slowly (tip: do use the firelighters to get started or whenever you need a flame).

Waterfall yurt was incredibly cosy and perfect for a romantic break. The authentic decoration made you feel thousands of miles away.

More tips: The yurt door is very low so I recommend you keep your hat on for protection. The bed is really two single beds put together so you'll have plenty of room but you'll also be aware of where the mattresses meet. The separator toilet means guys have to sit down to pee - doable but a little strange at first. If you are very particular about your toilet, probably best to rent the other yurt, which, I believe, has a conventional arrangement. Take a good torch.

We spent a lovely morning at Aberglasney House and Gardens (10-15 mins away by car). Beautiful mixed gardens with an excellent cafe overlooking a small lake. A little further west is Dryslwyn Castle (ruins of), which you can climb in 10 mins after parking at the bottom. Great views of the meandering Towy from the top.

Very impressed with takeaway food at Kunzan Tandoori in Llandeilo (you can see the food being prepared).

Room Tip: Waterfall yurt is only yards away from a parking area as well as an occasionally used drive so if yo...

Had a wonderful time - very private, and clean! Everything was provided in order for our stay to be comfortable: thick duvet, wooden fire stove, shed store, yurt mobile which has shower room & kitchen :D. Mary and John was friendly & yet left us to our own devices!

I have never stayed in a yurt before, so didn't know what to expect! The yurt was really clean, it was everything we expected and more! Could not be more satisfied, It was brilliant! We didn't want to leave... We highly recommend, & will definitely go back again! :)

SImilar to a previous reviewer, I found the Airstream via an internet hunt and it ticked the box for a 30th birthday getaway from it all. It couldn't have been more perfect for that.

The Airstream is completely secluded at the end of its own track close to the town and tucked away behind a field on the owner's property. The outside space was well thought out, with lovely seating area and plenty of room, and the Airstream was surprisingly spacious inside.

It's extremely well kitted-out, and although there isn't huge amounts of spare room, there's a place for everything. SO much care has been taken in the refurbishment and it really shows - the 'sofa' is really comfy, the bed the same - right down to the magnetic curtains and blinds to stop you being woken at dawn due to the curve on the walls!

We stayed for a long weekend - 3 nights - which to be honest was probably enough time, as the novelty of the confined space did wear a little thin eventually, but very fond memories of Sunday morning with a pot of coffee, listening to the DAB radio (crystal clear signal, despite no TV reception, which suited us perfectly) and the birdsong, will stay with us.

The location is handy for the Brecon Beacons and also the coast - we made the most of the good weather by visiting both. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway away from it all.

We stayed for two nights in the room in the main house, and frankly wish it had been longer.

We chose Ty Cefn Tregib partly because they don't offer a cooked breakfast, on the assumption that we would be able to start the day at our own pace. We couldn't have been more right. The room itself is gorgeous - spacious, well appointed and with lovely views over the garden and neighbouring countryside. It's the sort of place you don't mind spending some time if the weather isn't good.

The breakfast basket is extremely well stocked, and it's made clear that you're welcome to take away anything you don't eat there and then. In fact, there's a 'doggy bag' provided for this very purpose, which is a nice touch.

We wrote in the guest book that we couldn't remember ever feeling as relaxed and comfortable in a B&B - and that was no exaggeration.
