Stayed for one night, booked through Superbreak. Good value. A welcoming, friendly hotel. Modern, clean room with everything you need. Ate in the restaurant. Food of a good standard, service friendly & efficient, particularly liked my flamed dish -thanks Bill! Would recommend & return again when in the area, thank you.

We're probably the oldest couple ever to book the 'Best Room in the House' but everything about the hotel we found to be up to scratch. Very friendly staff, good food at dinner and breakfast, spacious, 'padded' room, massive TV, brilliant shower and jacuzzi. It's different. The other rooms looked large and well maintained. If I were you, I'd give it a try. Only a mile walk along the canal towpath into Skipton. Or a bus stop right outside the hotel.

We have had short breaks with both sets of grandchildren for the past 3 years. When asked if they would like a trip the following year always say " yes if it's the same hotel." wonderful family rooms and helpful staff make for a relaxing stay.

My wife and I stayed two nights from 23 July, having booked online. The value was very good, although we did think that breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast was excellent and the one night that we had dinner was very good. Ate next door at the Indian restaurant on an early diners menu which was very enjoyable. Hotel was clean and well presented, although I found the bed a little uncomfortable. Have already recommended it to friends and we would not hesitate to stay there again. All staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: We had a room overlooking the canal which was very pleasant

Booked Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Deal via Superbreaks. After reading some previous reviews wasn't sure what to expect. All I can say is that I was more than pleasantly surprised.

We had a deluxe room, which was very spacious and nicely done out. The bathroom consisted of a corner bath and nice modern show room, with separate toilet.

Dinner in the canalside restaurant was excellent. Menu contained a good variety of dishes. Both our starters and main courses were excellent, the dessert were also fab.

Ventured into Skipton for a few drinks after dinner, it's about a miles walk by the canal if the weather is decent. We took a taxi because of the rain which cost around £4.00.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. OK it may not be super modern, but it's friendly and clean, our room was excellent and the food was superb, brilliant stay all round.

Whilst the Room was outdated it was clean and the staff were pleasant. The cost was £105 for the room only, which i thought was expensive given it was supposed to be Superior. The other comment i would make was when i booked it online it stated breakfast was £4.50 per person per night what it should have said it is £4.50 for a continental breakfast and £9.00 for an english breakfast which i only found out when settling the bill. This i thought was expensive considering its not a five star hotel.

Room Tip: canal view rooms are quieter

We booked this hotel at the last minute in order to attend a wedding. We had two children with us aged 18 months and 9 years and this was over the Easter weekend. The room although a little old fashioned was clean and a lovely size for a family. There were Easter eggs for both of the children on arrival and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful without being false. The room was quiet (important with a baby!) The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. The food in the restaurant overlooking the canal was lovely and the staff made every effort to make sure that everything was ok. It might not be the most attractive of buildings or the most modern of hotels but what it lacked in style was more than made up for by the service of all the staff. Would thoroughly recommend this if what you are looking for is a hotel that appreciates the needs of families and is warm and welcoming rather than being ultra modern and trendy
