We found this family run farm many years ago now. It is so good that we usually go a couple of times a year taking the grand kids with us. We have just returned from a visit, the second so far this year and can honestly say that we had a fantastic time.
The farm is very hands on for the kids and has a petting area encouraging children to stroke rabbits and guinea pigs etc. At varying times of the day the animals are fed and again children are encouraged to join in. The staff, most being members of the Hesketh family are brilliant with the kids and make sure that everyone has a turn at feeding the animals whether its giving the lambs a bottle of milk or the donkeys some feed. Calves and piglets are also hand fed.
The farm is a working farm and breeds cattle, sheep , pigs, chickens etc so there is lots to see and do. There is a play area with a slide, swings and climbing frames. There's a sand pit. Pedal tractors both for small and bigger kids and picnic tables laid out in a lovely and peaceful setting.
We always take a picnic when we go but they do have a café providing refreshments and also sell fresh eggs that have just been laid ! We have grand kids aged 14,11 and 3 and they all love visiting the farm, the tractor rides around the farm being a big hit with all of them.
Overall a great day out for a very reasonable price.
