“Brilliant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

This isn't a fancy cafe. No wi fi or anything like that, just a good down to earth place that serves great (cheap) coffee and tea and has the added attraction of a brilliant, small, maze type garden. The artwork in the garden is mainly made of mosaics with some paintings and sculptures. It is still a work in progress but was great to experience in the sunshine. It is bright, colourful, creative and lovely to look at. It costs a mere $2 to enter the garden, which is well worth the price. An absolute gem!

“AMAZING really worth it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

My mum talked about this amazespace in Kawakawa. So I finally got to see it. While licking my ice cream I walked and had an adventure with my feet and eyes. I met the artist which was great and even thou he was shy he did share something ... himself in his art ..... and expression thru the colours. Really had a great time much better than the Kawakawa toilets as I was able to buy another ice cream and lollies to go :-)

“A walk on the artistic wild side!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

After visiting the famous toilets, we wandered across the street for an ice cream and to check out the amazespace. Nothing could prepare us for the visual delight created by the owner, Matthew. You walk through the ice cream parlor and it's a fantasy wonderland. Every surface is tiled, mosaiced, painted, and adorned with fanciful shapes. It's a visual wonderland and worth the very modest price of admission. Don't miss this!
