We went on Honeymoon to this hotel and had an incredible time. The hotel was amazing with an open and airy reception area and very warm welcome. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms very large. We told them we were on our honeymoon and got our room upgraded! The views from our hotel room were incredible and we loved just spending time on our balcony. The hotel staff were friendly. The restaurants were a little over priced and not amazing. The restaurant at the golf course or across the bay was much better.

The pool area was nice and accorded great views across the bay.

The snorkling at Kapalua beach was the best we found anywhere on Maui. The beach was a little small but it never got crowded and the protected bay area was great for swimming and snorkling. The hotel grounds are kept immaculate.

Being quite a bit north of the Lahaina and the other resort areas Kapalua was nice and quiet and relaxed- just want you want for a honeymoon. We visited other areas further south and found them much more developed and crowded. If you want to get away from it all and feel like you are in paradise this is the place to go. Other areas in Maui felt a bit tacky and very American.

We visited a few of the other hotels as my wife wanted to know if we had chosen the right one- Kapalua Bay was the best by a long way!!

I went for my honeymoon and in my opinion it was average for us. We were in our 20's and this resort is for older couples definitely or those celebrating anniversaries. There is no nightlife at all, we found some locals and went to a sushi restaurant and partied with them one night. Otherwise there was a guy playing a guitar in the lobby and that was it for entertainment. I thought the hotel was overpriced and I expected something much more fancy for what we were paying for. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful hotel and the grounds are amazing, but I thought our room would be MUCH better for what we paid for. The A/C in the room was AWESOME! The food was not that good in the lounge area or by the pool and the drinks were never that strong. The best part was the massages that we bought in the cabana along the ocean. This is not a place to go for a great beach area, but it has the best snorkeling in the country. I did not like the snorkeling as much, but my husband loved it. I was scared of the blowfish that kept following me. We went on a whale tour on a boat and that was SO fun. We got the most drunk on this boat - their Mai Tai's were so good. I had a friend that stayed in Kanapalli and I think she had much more fun on her honeymoon than we did. It was more centered for those in our age group. Overall, we got kind of bored and wished there were more people around. We felt like we had the place to ourselves most of the time - which is good, but we got lonely after awhile.
