“Plantation House Restaurant - Maui, HI”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2009

The Plantation House Restaurant is situated with a country club. The location has a wonderful view of the mountain. At arrival, we did not have a reservation, and the host kindly told us that they do not have an availability at the dining room, however, he tried to find an open spot on the balcony by the bar - no luck with that either so ended up sitting at the bar. Pat, the bar tender was very nice and checked up on us quite frequently even though she was swamped.

Food was so-so. I ordered the Diane's pastat w/shrimp, while my wife ordered the Mediterranian Special. The tomatoes in my pasta was in big chuncks. Usually, one can't go wrong with a pasta dish - and there's nothing wrong with this one - it's just I've had better pasta for a lot less.

Overall, it's a nice restaurant - great location - but the food is average.

“Destination wedding in Maui”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2008

If you are thinking of having a destination wedding, the Plantation House on Maui is the place.

My son and daughter-in-law wanted to have a destination wedding in Maui this past November. In May, 2008 we took our son and his fiance' to Maui to check into various locations and restaurants for the event. Since it was going to be a very small wedding of only 30 guests, they decided against a hotel wedding and started looking into other sites. We found the Plantation House Restaurant at the Golf Course at Kapalua. The restaurant is really nice and the view is spectacular, but what really sold us was the restaurant wedding consultant. A lovely young woman named Amber was so warm and nice, we felt like we were dealing with a friend. She had many ideas for us to think about and put everyone at ease with her calm but enthusiastic demeanor. The more we talked with her the more we realized she would be our partner in this and take care of everything on the Hawaii side. She made sure we had all the paperwork regarding costs for all items, and gave the wedding couple lists of DJ's, photographers, florist, and bakeries with recommendations and websites. Amber even gave my son the name of a tuxedo shop close to the hotel we were going to be staying at and how to have his tux measurements and that of his best man done at home and emailed over. Having a destination wedding is really wonderful but can also be very stressful. Since you are not at the destination until it's time for the wedding, you need someone there who you can trust to do things the way you want them to be done.

The day of the wedding, Amber was there guiding all of us. She made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be. She made sure the site looked beautiful and the bar was ready. With the harpist playing and the guest seated, the bride and groom had their perfect wedding. We can't recommend Amber and the Plantation House enough!!!

“Love Plantation House food & views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2008

After reading so-so reviews regarding the Plantation House I was hesitant, but it was excellent. I loved the food and the views were wonderful. We had no problems with service while at the restaurant; however, trying to get a reservation I did run into some problems with the staff not being helpful or seeming to care. The inside of the restaurant/golf club were beautiful and it's open air seating. The Sunday brunch menu had something for everyone and it was great! I would eat here again.

“Best Thanksgiving Ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2008

The Plantation House was one of my best Thanksgiving Dinners ever!! Aside from the breath taking views, the traditional Thanksgiving dinner was divine!! This is a huge compliment coming from a southeren girl who
loves her turkey & dressing. The turkey was juicy and flavorful, the dressing was delicious cornbread based like we southerners are used to-not to dry and not to much sage-perfect. I finished the dinner with the best creme brulee I have ever had-a touch of passion fruit. At the end of the evening, our entire group watched the sun set and just marveled at the beauty of the day.
