We recently stayed at Whispering Falls for 3 nights and highly recommend it. We arrived at dusk, parked behind our cabin, and strolled out to behold a vista of lake, glaciers and huge stands of trees ringing a huge grassy clearing with an apple orchard at one end. You could smell pine on the breeze and hear birds chirping. Instant bliss! It’s only a 2.5 hour drive from vancouver, but seems a million miles away. There are 6 (soon to be 7) rustic, but well-equipped+clean cabins w/full-size stoves+fridges (cold water), all semi-open plan, sleeping 4-6. Directly behind there’s an immaculate central bath-house with hot showers. Huge firepit area – nice and flat, room for a big crowd, with incredible views of the mountains. Nice dock+there’s good fishing in Gates Lake. The CN trains run on the lakeside a couple of times a day, but the tracks are protected by thick swaths of indigenous grasses+shrubs, with only one boardwalk path out to the dock, so it's totally safe. The owners live on the property and they’re great people. It exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely return.
