“Spring clean needed.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

This is another generic Italian restaurant the delivers an acceptable standard of food you would expect from this sort of chain, so little to add from the food front.

What lets this particular restaurant down is its general state of disrepair. Stains on bench seats, dirty chairs, battered walls / bare plaster, toilets with broken flushes etc. I don't want to go on as the staff were great and the service was good, it just felt a bit grotty.

Could be better.

“Family friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013 via mobile

Went for two course lunch today with our 8 month old baby. Our waitress was lovely, couldn't do enough to ensure we had everything we needed, we weren't rushed in any way and the food was lovely. Very family friendly.

“Ideal pre theatre meal choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We had to be seated in the Hall for Cornwall at 7.30pm, so had booked at Ask for 5.30. Hubby chose the stuzzichini starter and I the asparagus in Parma ham. I think hubby was saddened by the size of his starter (quite small) but as we had time to indulge in 3 courses it wasn't so bad. For mains hubby had the spaghetti carbonara with added chicken, I opted for the terrine frutta Di mare. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his, and mine was delicious. Portions looked small but there was more than you thought! For dessert my first choice wasn't available but went for the cheesecake, and they were more than happy to substitute the mango sorbet for fresh strawberries. Not having a sweet tooth hubby went for the dough balls! This nearly broke him, as the waitress pointed out, a whole pizza base goes into the 12 dough balls so they are quite filling. We had lovely food, friendly efficient service, they were happy to suggest changes/ preferences which is so nice, so often restaurants are unhappy to go away from what is printed on the menu! We will happily return to Ask.

“italian meal for 2”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

we have been to ask 3 or 4 times and have always had a nice meal .the portions are not huge but we are not big eaters ,the garlic prawns are lush , chicken ceaser salad is good and the pizzas are made to order . i would give the restaurant a try because we do not have many italian restaurants in truro and to have something different rather than your bog standard english dishes if you want to try a little more tomato base dishes which is so good for you .

“Good with some planning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Came here with a large party. We pre ordered our dishes in advance as we were a large group which meant that everything ran smoothly and the food was served very quickly considering the number of people. The food was good, the dessert was also good. The service was good. Can't complain except it was a little expensive for the quantity of food.
