“gorgeous sunsets.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

we were staying locally and came up here three times for wine and the sunset- absolutely stunning- looked at one bedroom- with self catering facilities and decided we will come back and stay here! staff were really helpful. didn't eat ( wished we could have! but saw others and heard their comments and they seemed pretty happy!)

The staff are extremely friendly and always went out of their way to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The hotel chef offered a delicious variety of cuisine at bargain prices, and the sommelier helped us select just the right wine for every meal. The apartments were bright, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable.

The Emerald Hotel is that special place that one hesitate's to tell others about because, once word gets out, the hotel might be booked year round. Nonetheless, this place deserves to be enjoyed by all who appreciate fine food, friendly service, and a view that can't be beat.

We will definitely be back, again and again!

We only stayed here for three nights and can honestly say this place is a little gem.The views from the pool and terrace are breath taking and the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The hotel is in a excellent location overlooking the bay and the exterior and gardens of the hotel are very well maintained and beautiful. The rooms are clean and spacious and very well equipped all and all this exceeded our expectations and we would definatly stay again.

The owner of the hotel and the owners of the restaurant make you feel like you are in paradise. The hotel is a hidden gem: amazing location, wonderful, quiet and roomy apartments. The view is hard to beat!

The restaurant, with new management and an incredible chef, really has the best food, offering outstanding traditional and fine cuisine. We tried other restaurants around Chania but kept returning to the Emerald Cafe, as the food is exceptional. Also, the fine wine selection and excellent recommendations of the trained sommelier and restaurant manager are a delight. We love Crete and its incredibly lovely, lovely people, and the Emerald Hotel and restaurant are an amazing additional treat to your holiday. We will return for sure! In fact there is no other place we'd stay or eat. We were treated like royalty here, and the owners add a wonderful, caring touch to this amazing place.

Up the hill so incredible views, beatiful vines dotted across the apartment complex, like a serviced apartment with kitchen facilities and spacious. Great staff! 5 min walk to shops and great restaurants. 20 min walk down the hill to more shops, restaurants and lovely beach.

If you are looking for a low cost, family run and quiet aparthotel that is located in a relaxing location with stunning sea and mountain views this is worth considering. The pool was never busy, no noisy fellow residents. It is located on a hillside above Almyrida, so expect a uphill and downhill terrain and is a 20 minute walk to the beach, or 5 minutes into Plaka that has a selection of 4/5 good quality tavernas. Please don't expect 4* quality, this is rated as a 2* and therefore the apartment furnished simply and the furniture/kitchen is a little dated, the bathroom is a traditional "wet room" style, the rooms were kept immacuately clean. The continental breakfasts were a pleasure, with options like home made fig jam and seasonal fruit on offer.

Room Tip: The rooms with the best views are on the first floor
