“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sarah's place booking at short notice . The property is in a beautiful stunning location and the hosts were so welcoming and friendly. The room was perfect, home from home with fantastic views across the valley and is so peaceful and the breakfast was a delicious spread. We hope to be back some time very soon and would recommend the B & B to families (our son is 11 and loved the rope swing in the front garden!) and dog owners.

Me and a friend spent two wonderful relaxed nights at Sarah's place. Beautiful location and amazing hospitality from two wonderful hosts. Our room and the house was comfortable and homely with gorgeous view from the patio (a brilliant shower as well!). Lovely walks started right outside the house and Sarah and Steve also helped us find a great canoeing company in Monmouth. Finally, a review of Sarah's place MUST mention the food: the breakfast was brilliant (full english with local produce and/or fruit, yogurt and cereal) and kept us going for most of the day! We had dinner with them one night as well and had a stunning two course meal with great company! Overall I could not rate this B&B highly enough. Go- you wont regret it!

I stayed overnight prior to attending a MTB race and the facilities were excellent. Its clear that the owners,Sarah and Steve have thought about what a person needs to make their stay comfortable. There are no areas that need improving and I would be happy to recommend family and friends to this peaceful b&b.

I have stayed at many, many bed and breakfasts in the U.K. whilst going mountain biking. Some are complete rubbish, some are good. and many are average but always with one or two niggley things that could have been done better.

Sara's Place is the only B&B I rate as "outstanding" (let me assure you my standards are high. I have been known, for instance, to send food back to restaurant kitchens if I think it's not up to scratch).

I've stayed at Sarah's more than any place in the country second only to where I actually live. I've a feeling I'm not finished with it yet...

The moment we arrived we were greeted with such warmth and kindness we knew immediately we were going to love it here. Being able to bring our dogs was wonderful. The location is beautiful, the Wye Valley Walk right outside the back door meant no extra travelling to enjoy the outdoors and the bedroom and en suite were clean, comfortable and very spacious. Now to discuss food......lets just say that Sarah's homemade meals, cakes, desserts and snacks means to date we have never bothered to go to a restaurant for any of our meals each time we have stayed. The food is so fresh and so expertly cooked there was absolutely no chance of any local restaurant doing better. Every food lifestyle is catered for and Sarah and Steve are excellent company. We will be staying here every year for the foreseeable future and cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I have only stayed at Sarah's Place as a friend and have often eaten there as Sarah is a marvellous cook! I have seen her develop and decorate the rooms and they are cosy and beautiful. Sarah is able to cook excellent veggie and vegan food and even as a non vegetarian I am always asking for second helpings! The B&B is in a beautiful tranquil location with wonderful unspoilt scenery and walks all around. Go now!!

Room Tip: Any of them!

You will rarely meet a couple nicer running a b&b very relaxed and always there to make your stay easier. When you cycle you want hot showers, cosy rooms and someone who understands cyclists. Here you get your own lounge cycling, walking and home-making magazines sit comfortably together and chocolate cake breaks more akin to a classy ski resort! The house is beautifully, tastefully decorated with a quirky feature for a toilet roll holder that proved they care about their guests down to the last detail. I wish more of the places I stay in would take a leaf out of their book!
