5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

I love this hotel. The rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The food is buffet style with a different theme every night. Always fresh and ample availability. Free house wine with dinner is always a winner. The beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms exceptionally clean. All the staff are helpful and polite.
The hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the town centre. Although longer in ski boots the Free buses to town stop outside the hotel entrance every 10 mins. The perfect hotel for a holiday in Morzine.

we stayed at le cret January 2012 for the first ski trip of the season as a family group and friends. We travelled with Inghams and jet 2 and everything ran smoothly all the way and it is certainly easier not doing the transfers yourself.

the hotel rooms were adequate but not as plush as those we had seen on the web, howver the showers had oodles of hot water which wa welcome after a day on the slopes and the food was defintiely a highlight, buffet style breakfast and dinner with a gala dinner evening, a fondue evening and so much choice there was something for everyone and planty of it. throw into the mix a free flowing wine fountain there was little more anyone could ask for.

the pool and sauna and stema room made for a great post ski realx and we made good use on the facilites, there was a full programme of entertainment provided and lots for children to do ( we didnt have nay with us) but we did join the quiz night and whilst we were the only English there we had an absolute hoot and the entgertainment team worked tirelessly to ensure all had a good time.

being only a short walk into town and a ski bus stopping at the end of the drive to take you to the lifts I cant think of a better location. We would defintiely go again and the snow this particular January was amazing.

All in all it was a brilliant combination of all the elements that go to make a first rate ski holiday experience.

I stayed with family at this Hotel in January, the Girls (3 of us) shared a generous room with a double nd 2 twins and the boys next door also had a double and single,. Connecting balconies were also a bonus. the rooms a little dated but I had seen better on the website so check where you are.

The restaurant offered great food options, a mixed of buffets for breakfast and dinner with 2 nights plated main course. food was plentiful, with great variety and good quality. we also joined a gala dinner which was superb and a specialfindue night which was a hoot.

the leisure facilites were an unexpected bonus and helped ease away the aches from skiing and work of some of the excess calories we had consumed.

Overall we had a great stay and I would highly reccommend this hotel for a stay in an amazing ski resort

Room Tip: we had a room overlooking the car park and these were not as good a standard as those seen on the we...

The hotel was a short walk from the town centre, but we actually really appreciated the stretch of legs after skiing and the rooms were lovely and clean and the beds super comfy and the best bit for us was the shower in the room, after skiing it was gorgeous and really powerful. The food was lovely, we only ate outside of the hotel on 2 occasions as we didn't really need to. Only 2 minor points that could have improved our trip, all the hotel activities/events/dinner etc were advertised in French and we had no idea what was going on, it would have been nice to have brief information in our room or something and secondly the Jacuzzi was too cold, it was lovely and bubbly but just too cold to sit in, would definitely stay again though and the Bar Men were amazing - really made for a good Christmas week!!

Excellent hotel atmosphere to cool down for a week-end with almost no noise at night. Top class service from the owners which make your stay very confortable. The rooms are pretty nice and quite big. The gymnasium was not accessible due to heavy snow but it looks good. The hamman is of good size but the jaccuzy can contain up to 8 people with no problem. Hotel location is convenient and only 10 min walk from Morzine city center. A few deers are going around which make the stay even more magic.

We stayed here for a skiing holiday over New Year 2012 and had a lovely time. We had a spacious room with a good balcony and great views of the mountains and the new year fireworks. It was clearly intended as family room (it was just the 2 of us) with twin beds in one room and sliding doors separating this from a double bedroom – though obviously not quite as spacious with 4 people in, it would still have been a good set up for a family too. The hotel is very geared up for French travellers with only a handful of British and other nationalities staying there. We found this a nice change from some other ski hotels we have stayed in which cater mainly to the British market. The hotel did sit all the English speakers close to each other for meals so we met the 3 other British couples that were staying at the same time as us but if you're looking to meet a lot of people to socialise with and don't speak much French this might not be the best option for you. Possibly because we were there over a holiday period there were a lot of families with children staying, and daily children's activity sessions (in French). Personally, we found this created a nice atmosphere but overall it is probably a hotel for families or couples more than those looking for really lively apres-ski.

The food was excellent – evening meals consisted of an extensive cold buffet, with a nightly hot buffet item too, a waiter served main course and separate cheese and dessert buffets. There is also a weekly gala dinner (and an extra one for new year during our stay). The inclusive wine with dinner was a choice of red, white and rose 'on tap' (essentially huge wine boxes!) – they were all good and you were free to help yourself by the glass or carafe. The fact that their main market is French definitely showed in the food and wine! Many of the staff had fairly limited English – enough for ordering food and drinks but our bit of school level French came in handy for more detailed requests. The entertainment at the gala dinners and the 'cocktail games' in the bar were a little reminiscent of a French Butlins, although the receptionist who did a New Year's Eve turn as a fire eater was impressive! The pool and spa facilities were nice and almost always quiet even though the hotel was busy with it being new year.

It's about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the ski lifts and as there are about 3 buses an hour, if you miss one it is generally quicker to walk than wait for the next one. We ended up walking everyday which wasn't a problem as we had free equipment storage near the lifts included in our ski rental – if you are trekking your equipment in and out every day it could be more of an issue.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone we knew that was planning to go to Morzine.

Had a really great week here in March. Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff throughout our stay. Fabulous rooms - really spacious (for France!), with lovely balcony and views down the valley. Excellent food options - cold buffet breakfast with fresh, hot croissants and pain au choc every morning; dinner was consistently very good with great buffet options and wine on tap:) Lovely indoor pool area with 2 smallish pools, one with jets and relaxation area - great at the end of the day. Bar prices were really reasonable. Really well kept and very high standards of cleaning. A 10-15 minute walk to main lifts - or bus stop is literally right outside the door. What more can I say? The best 3 star I've stayed in in France - definitely deserves top marks and will return there.
