“Fun in the sun and snow.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

We had a great time over xmas 2011 at Chalet Montana. They could not have been more helpful, and friendly. We had great food every night and a big choice of breakfasts each morning. The lounge/bar is cosey and has a massive tv if you wanted to chill.
Its not a place for young children but while we were there we had 3 generations of one family, and assorted couples, who were all great company.
They have a whole load of new Head skis and boots, a ski for everyone in the selection. All the staff were smiley, fun and all snowheads, so they know the mountians.
The bus to the lifts truely is 50 yards from the end of the drive, and such an easy walk.

Just returned from yet another fantastic holiday at Chalet Montana. This time we went as a family from 17th Dec to 23rd Dec. Zeb was extremely accommodating as usual. The location is perfect as the free ski bus stop is located right outside of the drive. The food is second to none, a fabulous, hearty 3 course meal with plenty of wine. A very comfortable, homely Chalet with a lovely blazing fire to relax next to after your hard days skiing. A big thank you to all of the fantastic staff. Atmosphere around the table in the evenings is very relaxed and you are guaranteed to have a laugh. Looking to book flights to come back as soon as they are available.

Just returned from chalet Montana and the best ski holiday I have had! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is excellent and plentiful. Breakfast and evening meals are varied and good quality and afternoon cakes all home made and delicious. The rooms are ok and do the job and the lounge is cosy with leather sofas , log fire and the cheapest bar in town. Ski hire is available at the chalet and I was very happy with the equipment provided. It is a good 30 minute walk into morzine but the ski bus stops directly outside the chalet and gives easy access to the town and a number of ski lifts. Chalet Montana offers excellent value for money and I will definitely be back!

I was looking for somewhere to stay in Morzine for a "last-minute-ski-weekend", Chalet Montana popped up in the window and had a spare room. Everything was good, food, comfort, advice, beer, bar and location. Five minutes into the centre of Morzine and five minutes up the road to the Ardent gondola lift from the bus stop at the end of the road.

I will be back in 2012..

Had a great 5 nights in Chalet Montana, everything is so simple, nothing is hassle and the people and the food is great. The rooms are adequate as you are not looking for luxury at the price and the balconies have fantastic views. Everything is provided from breakfast to a snack and a cuppa on your return from the slopes. The public areas are perfect and there is even a bar. We were quite a noisy bunch but they didn't mind one bit as the chalet was quiet for the end of the season. Nobody bothers u but if u want to chat or ask advice the staff are always at hand.

VERY convenient location, right opposite the bus stop for the free skiing bus, I had to be there to appreciate what a benefit this was in the Morzine area, most places have a fair walk to the stop. If you take your car there is loads of parking tho.

Morzine was about a 10 min wander down the road on foot for more bars and eateries but there is a food shop, pizza place and equipment shop round the corner.

I never hired their kit but I did put my ski's in for waxing for a very reasonable £5 the night before I left, again, no hassle.

We went to Ardent on the bud every morning and because one of us was hiring skis the guy let us store all out stuff there for the duration (the place right at the bottom of the cable) This was really handy and allowed us to take the bus into Morzine in comfort without lugging stuff around if we wanted.

All in all, fantastic time here, would be fantasic for a large group of friends which we are actually already looking into now for next year!

Thanks Zeb

Our recent trip didn't see a drop of snow fall but the slopes were still good with a range of activities, jumps, boarder cross, and lots of apres activities.

The hostel is setup a short bus jouney away from two of the main lists, lots of selection on slopes and regular buses too and from the hostel. The bus stops 200 yards away from the hostel so minimal walking : )
The hostel setup is really set on a community feel, nice communal bar area with large TV great for sports viewing. Friendly staff and meals together are always very lively and a good laugh.

This setup seems targeted to groups and sociable people, good meals always enough food to fill you up. This isn't five star food but it is just what you need when you come of the slopes, meat, veg and potatoes in lots of forms.
really enjoyed my stay here, felt relaxed and trusting, felt like being at home rather than staying in someone elses chalet.
Would recommend staying here either during the summer or the winter, lovely location and friendly welcoming staff make it a very enjoyale location.

I highly recommened you not to book here! The chalet was literally, one step up from a youth hostel. 3 of us were crammed into the most tiny room, with hard, uncomfy beds, being woken up continually through the night. Every sound seemed to travel through the building, finding yourself with you pillow over your ears to try and block it out. The communal bathrooms were, lets say, very much communal. At times you couldn't find one toilet to use, and when you did, the smell and the state of the toilets drove you straight back out again! Not mentioning the unsightly blockage of one of the sinks...
The food got worse as the week progressed, forcing you to drink the watered down wine just to make the taste of it bearable. The so called 'cooked breakfast', was very disapointing. Going downstairs to find all on offer was rubbery, chewy, pancakes, was definately not enough to keep you going for the morning. Other breakfasts were a measly fried egg on toast, or a boiled egg, or a bacon and cheese croissant was enough to make you feel sick for the day.
Now for buses...took us 2hours one day to get to Morzine, which is completely unacceptable. Lugging skis around after a hard days skiing and having to face the same buses home is all you need! Then being welcomed with the Chalets 'cake', often being indigestable as it was so dry!
Nightlife in Morzine itself is good, but the buses stop running at around 5.15, so the only hope of getting into town, apart from walking an hour, is the pricey cabs.
So all in all, shop elsewhere!
